I know some of us travel in our jobs and fall into the trap of not wanting to eat at a resturaunt alone. What do fellow travelers do to ensure we stay under the carb goals and not get caught in a carbotrap like I did when I went to KFC...KFC chicken strips seemed safe enough...till you look them up! www.calorieking.com will shock you. I cant carry 3-4 days of food with me, so what do others do?
I don't know where you are but in Canada, the Swiss Chalet restaurants serve barbecued chicken & salad for takeout. Many grocery stores make barbecued chickens for sale, and salads. Greek salad and Caesar salad are the best. You can get sliced beef or turkey and add a salad. Look for takeouts in the phone book.
I have gotten so used to travelling alone for business that I don't mind. I just take a book and read.

If you stay away from breaded chicken, eat burgers without the roll, steak without the potato, it's actually not that hard to do if you think about the basic food items that have high carbs.
Stay away from bread, starches and sugar and you should be fine.
I usually get a grilled chicken salad - just about everyplace has that. And if I am going to be in the hotel room for the night - I order room service and read a good book or watch the tube. I also usually take little snacks with me, soy nuts, beef jerkey - beef sticks (no refrig kind), chicken jerkey. I usually don't end up eating the snacks, but I feel better knowing that they are there.
