HI ALL, IM KERRY IN MACKAY. I'VE BEEN ON AKTINS FOR 5 WEEKS NOW. LOST ABOUT 4 KGS IN THE 1ST 2 TO 3 WEEKS, BUT NOW STALLING (I MUST ADMIT I HAVN'T BEEN DOING MUCH WALKING OR EXERCISE YET!! )TRYING TO STICK TO INDUCTION FOR A WHILE. ITS GREAT TO FIND THIS SITE & PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND THIS WOE. I'VE BEEN GETTING LOTS OF TIPS & RECIPES FROM HERE. A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS, I READ TO USE OATFLOUR AS A SUB FOR ATKINS BAKEMIX. WHAT IS THIS(NOT ROLLED OATS)? I CANT FIND ANWHERE! ALSO THE DIET PUDDING MIXES , I'VE TRIED WOOLIES,COLES & FRANKLINS UP HERE FOR BOTH THESE ITEMS. HARD TO GET LC PRODUCTS UP HERE. THANKYOU, KERRY

Hi Kerry, welcome!

You're doing very well, congratulations!

And you haven't really stalled - your body is just taking stock.
It's very common at the beginning of this WOE to have a good loss followed by nothing for a while. What is happening is that the fat cells start to worry that you are starving them and they tend to grab onto some water. The good news is that if you just carry on low carbing, before too long those cells will give up the extra water with a whoosh. We like to whimsically say that the Whoosh Fairy has visited.

On the rare occasions that I do any baking, I use almond meal.

Kerry, have a good look around the rest of the site here. The orange bar at the top of the screen has a lot of useful stuff - especially "Low Carb Tips."

All the best, matey.

Rosebud
