Default Interesting Info

I had posted about not being able to lose, because I have been too wiped out to do any kind of exercise. Well this morning, I read an article that suggests that exercise helps CFS! Even if you start out just doing five minutes a day & build up. It says that the inactivity, leads to muscle wasting, & that makes the fatigue even worse, so I am going to start trying to do at least a little every day. Easier siad than done, but I'll give it a whirl!

Eve

I've just read something similar. They said 'use about 50% of the energy you feel you have available' ie if you walk 1 mile and are then wasted the next day (as opposed to just tired), try 1/2 a mile next time BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, EXERCISE.

Eve, I agree. I know it helps me if I can get out and walk--even a little bit. Unfortunately last week was so rotten not even that happened. I had to go to the store and could barely drag myself down the aisle to get what I needed. But I also know I have to try, sometimes even when I don't feel like trying.

I know it will make me feel better, but it sure is tough. I just read an article like that also. Can't do it in the morning...hurt too much...and lately it's been storming every evening. But will keep on trying.

(Lila...did you really mean "stranger"...got a hoot out of that)

Any exercise is better than no exercise at all. I've been a member of a gym for 14 years, but I stopped going for about 2 years (lots of reasons, all bad). I just started again last August with the simplest of routines. Now I'm there three times a week (before breakfast) lifting the heaviest weights I can and doing 30 minutes of cardio, too. It happened gradually, but the first step is the most important one.
Just get moving.

Patricia - do you have fibro? Just wondering since you exercise in the a.m. I haven't been able to do that for about 4-5 years, even though I used to exercise every morning - 6 days a week before developing fibro. Just curious
