Default Anybody do low-carb RM?

Hi, I tried one day of CAD (I am on Atkins maintenance), and was doing well until RM, where I decided to have REAL sugar and white flour. Bad idea! I couldn't stop, went well over the hour, and ate everything in sight. We're talking 6000-7000 calories and Lord knows how many carbs. For years I have suffered from binge eating disorder and LC has controlled it until now that I am on maintenance and eating carbier foods. On the test, my score indicated a severe carb addiction, but I knew that already lol.

I think that abstaining from sugar and white flour except on special occasions would work best for me, because it seems that even following CAD rules, sugar spurs cravings and unstoppable binges. Does anyone do this with success? Can you post a sample menu please? I was thinking, brown rice/LC bread and AS/splenda instead of the real deal.

Also, I was wondering if anyone else has/had Binge Eating Disorder and if CAD has helped it or if they think it makes it worse. I have read CAD and CALP and I have faith in this WOE, but my first day failure has me kind of worried that maybe it won't work for me.

Thanks!

I also limited the refined sugar and flour in my RM. I just don't want to put that stuff in my body, really. I stuck with whole grains, no-sugar-added ice creams and yogurt as well as fruit for most of my RM carbs. I found when I had real sugar it was harder to balance, and I had cravings for more later.

I don't have this problem of getting out of control with my RM, but have heard of this happening to others. You would probably be wise to omitt, at least for awhile foods that are made with sugar and white flour. Just do what potatofree does and stay away from sugar, especially if you don't have any control. Once you have been on CAD/CALP for awhile and get your body into balance, you can then try a little sugar and see if it still does the same thing to you, but for now, stay away from it.

Good luck to you..

I have decided to stay away from sugar at my RMs. For the last 6 days I have been sugar free I find its much easier for me to balance my meals and control what I eat when I stay away from sugar. I am not sure if its effecting the scale, but I like being in control. I keep telling myself "sugar has no nutritional value" so I don't even get tempted. lol I have my menus posted in my journal, if you'd like to look you can
