Default Low Carb Donuts have arrived

Just reading through my local paper, and came across an ad for Red Square bakery in Burnaby. They now have Low Carb Donuts, package of 8 is $6. They each have 5g of net carbs. Not sure the size or the taste.

Now we just need to get Tim Horton's on the bandwagon!!!!!!!!!!!

I dropped by the Quay in New West a few weeks ago and was very surprised at what baking they had to offer. I picked up a loaf of their bread and some breakfast bars (all have been really good!). Prices might seem a bit high but its nice to have on hand when you want a 5 carb slice of toast! A little cinnamon and splenda and I am in heaven!!!

You people in BC seem to have a much larger variety of things than we do in Ontario, even in Toronto! Hopefully we will soon get more selection than what GNC carries.

Default Will this stuff stall you??

I question all of this stuff claiming to be lc. I wonder if they are really as lc as they claim or will this stuff cause a serious stall

Yep, I'm with you Hislady, I can see a bit of n/s chocolate, cookies now and then, But Donuts??? I think is asking for trouble for some, I mean part of this way of eating is to have broken those kind of habits. Not to just start loading up on so called low carb treats instead, and I too do not trust the carb count on alot of the baked products. Nor do I think the amounts of sugar Alcohols used to reach the sweetness level is a very healthy alternative. I can see a treat on a rare occassion, but I think the Bakery stuff could truely do in a lot of people.

Not to mention how dangerous it is to be selling some one a package of 8 !! LOL

Just my 2 pennies.
Kathy

I'm with you Kathy54...there is a reason why I put weight on in the first place....Love to cook...love to eat.
Changing what I eat is keeping the weight off. Donuts are junk food even if they are supposedly lc.
I saw the ad in the paper, had a good sad laugh.
