Question Alternate exercise for those who have trouble with squats?

Are there any people who have knee problems and have found substitutes for all the squat exercises?
Thanks,
Elaine

It's not a substittute for squats, but I have found that the elliptical trainer, or cross trainer, is really easy on my knees and hips.

Sandylee...LOVE the elliptical glider!

ewinpa...You might go here:
http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/

Mouse on "exercise" (top of the page) & you will find many exercises for each body part...It helped me find an alternative lunge.

Hope this helps!

Since you're in BFL you may be squatting really heavy so this wouldn't be for you, but I've found that doing "ball squats" takes the stress off my knees - though you may be in a worse position than me. I rest my back against an exercise ball which is in contact with the wall and do my squats that way, experiment with foot placement. I have long legs in proportion to my torso and find it impossible to maintain proper angles for safety and comfort in squatting unless I use the ball.

take care,
Meg
