I remember a participant in one of my weight loss challenges, a lady in her early 70's. She was about 80 lbs overweight, and her doctor had put her on statins.
A month later, she could barely walk, because the muscles in her legs were so painful. She told the doctor she thought it was the statins, and he dismissed that.
But she stopped them on her own, and the muscle pains went away.
Now, multiply her story by the literally millions of people worldwide who have used statins, and how many MORE adverse events might there be showing in the data? Not just striated muscle damage, which is bad enough, but other, life threatening issues?
