Forget the e-word
Personally I am not fond of the word exercise, it brings back very unfond memories of a competitive and unsupportive time spent in high school gyms, as well as decades of money wasted on fitness machines and fitness club membership fees.
On the other hand, I am a big fan of the word activity, as in moving about instead of being driven about. Walking eight blocks to my bank to make a deposit and eight blocks back home might take half an hour more than driving (and finding parking) but the benefits are immediate - mentally focused, less stressed, blood pressure down, heart rate slightly up.
On a cold and wet autumn evening, with pent up energy and no fun grabbing an umbrella, just stepping up and down on to the living room sofa 50 times can do wonders. (see above for benefits).
Also, though we might wish otherwise, for most people burning fat (Ketosis) does, in order to be really effective, require a bit more activity than just thinking and/or sitting and meditating. It doesn't have to be a major workout (though it can) - just moving about can help kickstart that little fat burner inside of you.
