Thumbs down New medication - side effect: weight gain

I have recently received a diagnosis that requires some long term (potentially permanent) meds, one of the side effects of which is weight gain. I am really not happy about that, however, finally having a diagnosis and a plan to remedy the situation is going to make a huge positive impact on my life so I am willing to take the bad with the good. Has anyone else had experience with trying to manage and/or lose weight while taking meds that cause gain? If so, I would love some pointers. I am still trying to get back down to 140, so I am really concerned that this will make it all the more difficult and want to try to minimize my pain!

I think the best shot at reducing medicine weight gain is to be LC. If the body can make fat even in the presence of low to no carbs, then you'll know you've done all you can do!

You may need to go to induction (or lower) again, and re-do your carb additions to see what you can eat on the med. Good luck to you!

If you don't want to mention the specifics, you might want to do a search of the forum on the name of the med(s) you'll be taking. You could PM or check out the journals of other people with experience.

Good luck.
