Default Cravings go away!

Boy - I had a really tough time last night. I'm only a week on the program and I lost 4 lbs and I'm very, very happy, but......... I can't imagine going the rest of my life without bread, pasta, potatoes. Everybody keeps saying they don't even crave that stuff any more - when do you get to that point? I was going crazy last night - I had had a big o piece of baked chicken last night with a hugh salad with an avacado so I definitely wasn't hungry. I ate a big bowl of jello to try and stave off the cravings, but it was tough! I did win though, I did not succum (this time). But I'm not sure how long I can do this.

Any suggestions, hints, words of encouragement - when do the cravings stop? HELP!!!!

Default I hear what you are saying.

I was the same way, and for me it took two weeks for the cravings to go from a roar to a whisper and now after three months I can say I don't hear the whispers. I actually fear eating something sweet, because I don't want to go through that again!
I can eat 5-10 carbs at a feeding without feeling that "pull".
Things that helped me: Limit artificial sweetners during this time and add them after you are done with the major cravings.
Diet sodas and artificial sweetners made me want real sugar... I don't know about the others on this board.

Gee I hope this helps.. Just think to yourself:
This, too, will pass.
I'm cheering for you!

Thanks for all the help and encouragement! Today is better - maybe I was just plain stir crazy last night and relasped to my usual what can I eat now mode!!!

I will take both your suggestions - and hang in there! It helped this morning when I was able to wear a shirt with a pair of jeans that last week made me look like a stuffed sausage!!!!

Progess is power!!!!!
