Default This board is the best!

Just wanted to send a quick note saying how much I enjoy posting on this board. I was part of a low-carb board on another site and I'm so pleased to have found this one. The other one was full of very judgemental, non supportive people who spent a great deal of time arguing over what you should and shouldn't do. EVERYONE was an expert. I just posted something admitting to cheating by drinking beer this weekend, and rather than people jumping on me for drinking, they gave me suggestions on what to do instead. That's so refreshing! I actually saw a post on the previous board that was written by a young college aged girl who said she drank on weekends. Her 'support' from the other board included people telling her that she needed to go to AA if she couldn't stop drinking while on this plan. She was basically being called an alcoholic for drinking with her friends on the weekend.

Anyway, I'm so glad I found this board...I'm never going back to the other one!

If you think that other forum is bad, you should see the LC newsgroup. Extremely judgemental and frequently harsh there. I may throw out my opinions now and again, but I never bash anyone. It is a "support" forum after all.

Wonder if it was the same board that kicked me off it because I told them to read the book?
They told me that what I was saying was wrong and not allowed.
I couldn't believe the suggestions they gave to many about atkins
You have to read the book to understand the diet its plain and simple
Glad you found this site
I sure was glad to find it

I love this board, too. IF you have a problem, you'll get many different people trying to help you solve it, and if you need information, people jump right in. It's wonderful!

RobsGal - I totally agree with you. I've been to other boards and none are like this one. As a matter of fact, i've been to low carb forums where people were bashing the low carb WOE. I couldn't believe it.

Everyone here has been so nice and helpfull. YOU GUYS ROCK!!

- Rem

I owe my success 95% to everyone on board and only about 5% to my own willpower..

I feel the same. It's nice to be able to feel comfortable opening up to complete strangers and I dont feel so alone with all yalls support! I get a lil lonely sometimes because none of my friends, fiance, no one does Atkins or knows anything (in depth) about it. When my fiance and I go out to dinner with couples, I dont even like talking about my diet when they ask because they give me a hard time about, joking about it in a non hurtful way, but it just really gets old. "Oh, you dont need to lose weight, or...they might tell our waiter ..."basically she just eats meat." Grrr..sorry. (frustrated) They dont understand because they havent read any of the books so just think I'm crazy. Anway, sorry for going out on a limb. It's just nice to have all you fellow Low-Carbers as support-friends because you guys really have helped me alot! Thanks so much!
