Thumbs down CarbSense Buttery Biscuit Mix

They smelled good when I was baking them, they looked good when I took them out, they even had a biscuit texture, when I tasted them I thought I'd died and gone to HELL !!!! Don't waste your money!!!

I tried this too and came out with rather dull and overly dry biscuits . I do use their bake mix in flax muffins and brownies and they come out pretty decent.

I have a box of this mix in the cupboard but haven't tried it. I was going to use them under stew, sort of like dumplings. Are they THAT awful?

Maybe if they're buried under a yummy stew they won't be that bad. They do sort of crumble though. I HATE wasting money, so I've been trying to think of what I could do to make them edible. I think I may add some Splenda and cinnamon and make them into 12 instead of 6 and see how they are that way. Please let me know if you can do anything with them

Thanks,
Alli

I baked them with cheddar cheese and garlic and they tasted just like the biscuits at Red Lobster. I was quite impressed, but have never tried them without the cheese and garlic.

steph z: how did you bake in the cheese and garlic? Did you place it on top or mix it into the dough? I have wasted so much money on mixes that I have pretty much given up on them (I liked the original atkins muffin mixes but they changed the ingredients (to cheaper ones) when they became quick quisine, raised the price and tasted crummy IMHO). But maybe if I acquire some mix-related skills instead of just following directions there may be hope again. I do love the smell of baking.

Actually, I am going to make a thread along this line.

I added cheddar cheese into the mix, until it looked cheesey enough (I did not measure); then I added garlic powder. They come out hot, greasy and cheesy -just like at Red Lobster. I left one on my desk at work, on top of sa small stack of paper towels, overnight - the next day, the paper towels were saturated! Very greasy, but I got quite a few, therefore the carb count was 1 gram each.

Good Luck

It may be my personal taste but I just added tons of cheese and garlic powder to those horrid biscuits and they were GROSS. Dry, yucky. I don't think anything could save them!
