Default how many carbs in McDonalds & Burger King meat patties?

Hey everyone,I was just having a look at some of the posts, and it seems that in America Burger King and Mcdonalds burgers (mnus the bun and ketchup) are fine, even during induction (approx 2-3 carbs). Most people say that they eat there occasonally and still continue to lose. I wondering if the ingredients used by the Australian Burger King and McDonalds would be the same, or if anyone knows the carb counts minus the bun and ketchup in Australia? Thanks,Susie

Hi Susie,

McDonalds describe their hamburger patties as being "all beef" so I would think they would be totally carb free and therefore safe. They also state pretty clearly that their hamburgers are the same wherever you buy them.

Can't help you with Burger King - Hungry Jack's here. Might be worth a phone call or two. I have a feeling that they too are all beef. Not 100% sure though.

HTH

I heard a nasty rumour a while back that Macca's 100% beef was just a trademarked name, not a description of the product. I think this has entered the urban legend hall of fame by now. Take anything Maccas says with a pinch of salt is what I say.

Casval,

I hope I can shed some light on it.

McDonald's patties are 100% animal products - but not necessarily the 'beef' you or I would buy at the butchers, although that is certainly an ingredient. They are a bit like sausages - made of parts of the animal we wouldn't normally think palatable, but 100% protein nonetheless.

Just before he died, Dr. Atkins told Larry King that when he goes to a burger place, he just has the meat & cheese without the bun, so I figure it is safe.

We frequently take the kids to maccas to get them to burn off some energy in the playground there, and I always have just the patty & cheese, no bun, and have not stalled at all doing that.

Hope this helps!

Katt

That's alright. A bit like meat pies then Seriously though, internal organs and such don't bother me. I do eat them. Especially at yum cha

I went to maccas last week. Had a garden salad and a cheese burger sans the bun and sauce. It was actually ok.

Do you all know at McDonalds you can just order a `pattie` alone,,, I get the large (quarter pounder patties) and they cost me $1.50 each.
And for breakfast there (when we are on the road) I get the big breakfast (muffin goes to the child and hashbrown to the hubby) and order 2 pieces of bacon for 70cents per slice,,,,,bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage pattie.......yummy

Any McDonalds will cook anything,,anyway,, anyhow,, to any order,,,just ask for he pattie alone,,,no waste or throw out of bum that way, and cheaper,, and the meat is real hot and fresh!! great with the salad now,,,,,

Bye guys
Rachael
