My doctor gave me a perscription for a pill that is suppose to help you not desire cigarettes, I am suppose to take it for 3 months. Question is will it interfere with my weight loss. Apparantley it is an antidepressent that they found helps people quit smoking. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like wellbutrin
1. Know the names of your meds.
2. People have different reactions to Wellbutrin; it's not an SSRI which are well-known for causing stalls.
3. Always better to quit smoking anyway and deal with the weight later than the other way around. If you haven't been able to quit smoking yet and are serious about wanting to, what do you have to lose but your habit?
I read somewhere that Stevia will help reduce nicotine cravings. I'm not sure which form is best, though.
My husband also did some searching and found some info that Stevia uses the same receptors that nicotine does, therefore blocking the nicotine. Some of the stop smoking programs use it as an ingredient.
Thanks for your advice. I decided not to take the pill it made me feel funny. I like being myself. I am going to wait until I drop another 10 pounds and then I will quit. I will check into Stevia and if that does not work I will go back on the patch. I always started smoking again because I was gaining weight. But loaded with LC info I hope not to have that proplem this time. Thanks Again!
