Default Stevia vs splenda?

What is the better sweetener to use?

Stevia has 3 carbs in a packet

Splenda I count each as 1 carb.

Stevia isn't supposed to influence BG?

Then there is spenda(?) with one gram of fiber added....as if there wasn't
enough confusion.

Pick the one you like-sweeteners are YMMV. I have been trying different brands of stevia since 2000-I simply don't like it so liquid sucralose is my fav sweetener-I also like the new Ideal sweeteners.

No carbs. It's serving size is a teensy little spoon.
Like "coke spoon" size.

Or this.

For those of us who have no experience using a "coke spoon" perhaps you could give just an actual unit of measurement, such as 1/8 tsp., 1/4 tsp., etc.

I goggled coke spoon, and found out something interesting...although not the measurement! Apparently, McDonald's used to make tiny spoons for people to stir their coffee with. Then they found out that they were being used for cocaine use, and so McDonald's discontinued their spoons and reformed their coffee stirrers into paddles.

From the picture, they're pretty tiny, but I still don't know what the amount is. Maybe 1/4 or1/8 of a teaspoon?

I find liquid stevia a little easier to work with than the powder.

I have the NuNaturals liquid stevia-you can check out their website. I have also tried the NOW liquid stevia-I got mine at my local FitRx or health food store. My fav sweetener is liquid sucralose-no carbs-check out the Sweetzfree website.

Re: French Vanilla Stevia Extract -
how strong is the vanilla taste? I don't want that flavor for everything, but it does sound appealing...

I honestly don't know... I just know that it comes in many flavors. I use the powder with the tiny little spoon, and a different brand of the plain liquid Stevia.

It's not strong at all and I don't like it in many things-too much of a stevia taste.

I really hate stevia tablets for my coffee, and is not good with cold beverages. I can only use it with special hot teas like fennels or mixed herbs. Sometimes I use also fructose.
With coffee I use an artificial sweetner called Dietor (lactose, art. sweetner: acesulfame k and saccarine).
No opinion about Splenda

Have a huge container filled with truvia, spenda and what ever comes in the blue packets........

I had a box of the "real" stevia and i hated it...it had a bitter taste to it. I did order some. I figure after a week or so without any sweets, beggers can't be choosers???

The (included) spoon is probably a sixteenth? of a tsp?

And yes, I remember the teensy little spoons at McD's... and the furor it created when there was a "run" on them by people who allegedly discovered they were the perfect size for "coke spoons".

The first time I ever heard about a coke spoon was Frank Zappa... Dancin Fool?

On second glance, perhaps a 1/32 of a tsp? It's really tiny...
