Happy belated Bday, Sandra
To be honest, yes, I think you may be setting yourself up for disappointment with goals that high. A 10% loss sounds doable, roughly 2% per month. Do you know your present BF%? And what is your goal?
At 40 years of age 25% BF is considered desirable, getting much lower than that may not be possible, or at least possible on a permanent level. To give you some idea of % of BF at different ages have a look at this thead. To give you an example, a 50 year old woman with a BF% of 25% is comparable to a 30 year old with a BF% of 18. Why? Because while body fat is just that, body fat, lean mass is a number of things, including, but not just, lean muscle. As we age our bones become less dense and less heavy. Setting goals that just aren't physically possible (which is not what I am suggesting you are doing, Sandra ) can be very defeatist.
HTH some
