Talking MikieGirl's Gym Log =) Get Moving!!!

Okay...I am going to get moving. I have to. I need to get things moving in the right direction.

Back in college when I was playing softball, my BF was about 17%. Now, the damn scale says ~ 38%. I am about the same weight as I was in college...but 4 years of not doing anything has killed me and I have my work cut out for me. It's cool because once I get things back in order, I will be able to appreciate how hard the road was and realize I don't want to go down that path again.

Over the next two days, I am going to redo my spreadsheet with all of my workouts. I don't know what I did with them but they were pretty darn good. I actually think that I made a hardcopy of them and have them in my workout drawer at home.

What I did was make a spreadsheet and then cut it up into flashcards. Each flashcard had a different workout on them with a different workout mixture. Three cards would be light days with just cardio, lifting, or abs. Other cards would have a mixture of cardio/lifting/and abs with different arms and leg exercises every day. Then I would put the cards into a basket and reach in and grab one. Whatever one I picked, that was it for the day so it added a little excitement because you never knew what you were going to do. I had a total of 10 workouts. Some were really hard.

I am going to workout. I am going to get moving. I can do it. I will do it.

This is my mantra...

Smile Checking out your new space....

YAY Mikie!!! I'm so glad you've started this, and what a clever way to add excitment and fun into the exercise part of your day. I do something similar in that I don't have a hard and fast plan as to what I'm doing each day. I know the bodyparts....but I do what I feel like doing that day. I have to be really motivated to do squats, for instance. And I like experimenting.....trying something I've read or heard about, and sometimes I make up things to try. I love bodybuilding....hate aerobics, which I did an experiment with....NOT doing any for awhile, so this week I'll go back to 2-3 days a week treadmilling or something . Well, I'll check in and see how it's going for you from time to time. You'll be hooked again in no time. I was.

Talking Excited

Hi All!!!

I am really excited about starting to workout over vacation. It will be the opportunity that I have been looking forward to. Since being in school and having to work, I could never get a chance to get into a workout pattern. Since I don't have a lot to do, I am finally going to get the chance.

I found my workouts... Thet were in my workout drawer just like I thought they were. I remade the spreadsheet this morning so that I can make new flashcards.

Goal, here I come...

Okay, I finally got myself up and moving.

I went to the gym with every intention of doing both cardio and lifting but once I was done with the cardio, my legs were already sore. I felt like if I lifted then I may pull something so I opted for a walk. But intsead of straight walking, I tried one of the programs on the treadmill called HILL. It was way cool and I actually felt like I was doing squats because the incline at times really got up there. Good day overall but by the time it was over, I was absolutely starving.

Workout:

25 Minute Run - 5.0-5.5
12 Minute HILL - Level 6, 3.7 Speed

My sister called and asked if I wanted to workout today. Since it was nice outside, we skipped the gym and opted for the forest preserve's trail. It was good to get outside and my legs were a bit sore from yesterday's run so a walk was just what the Dr. ordered.

Workout:

3.5 Mile Walk

Yeah...I have a visitor to my gym log... ...Hi J.K. Thanks for stopping by...

I am planning on hitting the gym in a little while. My back is hurting so I will just probably focus on cardio and get the heck out of the gym. Here is the plan...

Workout Plan:
3 Minute Warm-Up Walk
25 Minute Treadmill Interval - Run 5 Min Walk 1 Minute
18 Minute HILL Treadmill Walk

Coming back to edit...

I did 25 minutes on the treadmill and upped my speed to 10 minute mile. I thought I would do this since I planned on doing interval running but after walking for 3 minutes, I ran the rest of the time straight throught. It was pretty rough. Then I punked out on the HILL workout. I was a little burned out from the run. I set the program for 24 minutes but I only did 15. At least I did 15 at a higher level.

Workout:

3 Minute Walk Warm-Up
22 Minute Run at 6.0/ 10 minute mile
1.5 Minute Walk Cool Down
15 Minute HILL Workout at Level 8, 3.7 Speed

I am really excited to see by BF percentage go down although my weight it still fluctuating. Still haven't gotten my food under control. Yesteday, I had cereal, popcorn, and Coke before I went to workout thinking that would be my RM, but then when I got home, I had some pudding and then Kris surprised me and we went out for Japanese food. Needless to say, I ate up. So once again, a bad eating day.

Not planning on working out today.

I wanted to go for a walk on the trail but as I write this, it is pouring rain outside. It's crazy because It was bright and sunny out just 2 hours ago.

My legs are a bit tight after yesterday's workout but it's cool. I worked out 3 days in a row so one day off is not bad. Plus, I have a bit of a headache right now and I think I am going to lie down for a little while.

Smile just nosing around...

Hi Mikie! Glad the bodyfat is going down, I plan to check mine this week end. You're doing great with the aerobics. I'm not doing great with it. I started back last week and didn't do it at all this week, not such a great "start back." Anyway....I won't say anything about what you've been eating, since I had chocolate dipped strawberries yesterday. We've been having rain everyday. We have sunshine part of the day, but every evening here comes the storms. I sorta like them though. O.K. I've gotten off the exercise conversation here.....we shall continue on in our quest for greatness, or at least betterness. bye for now!

Talking Get Moving!!!

Okay, I am going to get moving...I really am.

We had a motivational speaker come to the bank last week and talk to us and he said..."You have to make time for exercise because if you don't, eventually you have to make time for illness." I never thought of it that way. When I exercise, I feel so much better about myself and I just have so much more energy.

My body is my temple and I need to take better care of it!!!

Thumbs down Week #2

Well, the week is not getting off to a really great start. Being back at work is a serious bummer. It's just really hard to fit anything in with both work and school to deal with. Plus, I came down with a really nasty cold that has forced me to take the day off from work. After basically sleeping all day, I am bit restless. I only worked out one day so far this week...a 40 minute treadmill workout that probably wasn't the best thing to do since I was not feeling well. It really drained me big time.

Sunday 10/17/14: Day Off

Monday 10/18/04: Day Off - Came down with a cold.

Tuesday 10/19/04: BTF

40 Minutes on Treadmill - 35 Minutes Random 4.0/L 6
~ 300 Cal, 2.3 - 3 miles

Wednesday 10/20/04: Day Off - Home sick from work.

Thursday 10/21/04: BTF

35 Min Treadmill - 20 Minute Run and 15 Min Random Walk
50 Crunches

~ 300 Calories and 3 Miles

Friday 10/22/04: Day Off

Saturday 10/23/04: Day Off

Check back in soon.
