Default Wii Fit?

Just wondering if anyone is using this for their beginner exercise? I have such hip and knee problems that walking or jogging on a treadmill, or regular biking are no nos for me. But the yoga on the Wii Fit is the perfect thing for stretching me out. I also do some of the balance and strength training exercises as well.

It's a wonderful low impact way to get going again. I ordered the Wii Fit Plus last night. We'll see if it has additional things I can do.

Anyone find that Wii Fit is great for you? Any particular exercises you find the best?

When I USE my Wii Fit regularly it does help. I've fallen into slugville over the past year and am just now "waking up" as it were -- so right now I'm doing at least 2 - three things a day and building slowly.

I also have major joint issues (hips mostly but when they act up then the knees and back join in because of compensation) and I like the Wii because it's not horribly stressful on my hips unless I decide to push myself. I can walk on soil or asphalt -- but I got rid of the treadmill because it killed my hips and became a clothes hanger.

Wii Fit + is very cool because you can build a work out -- last year I had a custom workout which worked well for me.

Last year I started my get fit journey and wii fit was a big part of it. I went from wii fit to P90x Lean, some zumba to p90x classic and now I am a licensed Zumba instructor. Odd how life has changed in the past 13 months.

Just plug in wii and go for it, explore. Do 20 min a day for a week then up to 25 a day then up to 30 and so on. i think you will enjoy

I use the Wii all the time. Sometimes I use exercise programs such as EA Active, but a lot of the time I just play some of the games (like boxing, sword fighting and tennis). If anyone thinks those activities are not exercise they need to spend about 30 minutes on Wii Sports Boxing. When my ankles and knees are feeling good I do the more physical activities, but when they're not its nice to be able to at least get a good upper body workout. I cannot however use the Wife's fit because it is only designed for one person and I am about 1 and 3/4 of a person.

I hear ya on size my husband has some issue.

On the dancing games, have you tried Zumba for wii? I haven't but have heard it is lots of fun, very similar to DVD. It's not a workout, it's a party.

I need to go back to using my Wii Fit again. I got the cold/flu a week or so ago and just haven't gone back to it, even though I'm better now. Lazy lazy! lol

I have not heard of the Wii Zumba and I was just looking up Zumba dvds. I'll have to look for it. Thanks1

My husband was doing Wii Fit PLus recently and had to follow some obstacle course and jump and walk fast. He was hurting when he was done. It was strenuous just watching him! lol So I know it can be a great workout.

Okay, gonna do it today. No excuses...

Sorry. Did not exercise yesterday. Migraine too bad. Woke up with another one today but I'm going to exercise anyway in about 15 minutes.

What are you doing for exercise today?

I am practicing to zumba routine. I have to do a demo on Saturday. It will be my first ever class. I was orginally told I had a 30 minute spot so I learned 27.1 minutes worth of choregraphy to go with my selected music. now i have a 45 minute slot and have upped my routine to 34. ? minutes. Lots of repeating to get it down pat. Lots of fun and sweat too!

Haven't seen Wii Mommies. I'll go check it out.

I exercised today for 30 minutes on Wii Fit Plus. The obstacle course just about killed me. Plus the flying like a bird made my arms ache! Fabulous work out.

Thanks for the motivation.
