CKD - weight going backwards
I've done a lot of reading and settled on doing a low-carb CKD diet. I started about 3 weeks ago (had been dieting prior but more of a high protein moderate carb + moderate-low fat). I started at 281lb in Oct 07, and started CKD beginning of July 08 at about 230lb.
I am type2 diabetic, although it is very much under control from diet/exercise and Metformin. A1C below 6 for at least a year now.
I have been working out regularly... weight training with some attempt at HIIT cardio.
Transitioning to CKD was easy. Just stopped eating what little carbs I had been, and added some fats (cheese, mayo, etc). Saturday carb-ups take care of most cravings. However I really miss fruit. Most of my carbs were fruit and some from milk in my protein shakes (use water now).
Ok, that's the background... My main problem is that I seem to gain about a pound a day until Friday/Saturday when I drop about 5lbs in the bathroom. I don't seem to "go" until those carbs hit, then it all breaks free.
I've Added fiber to my shakes (2 tsp BeneFiber powder), and I still do eat broccoli and some fibrous veggies and a salad or two a week.
I just seems every one else says they loose close to a pound a day, then add some back on carb-up. (I do add some on carb-up too). My net change for the last few weeks has only been maybe about 1lb a week.
Calorie wise I'm getting about 2000 a day, and about 200g protein (~50g from shakes). Carbs, I've been consistently under 25g a day.
Any suggestions, or just stick it out till my body adjusts a bit more?
