Question Ketosis on PPLP - is this POSSIBLE?

I had always heard/read that the only way to get to ketosis is on the hardcore plans, like Atkins. On the other hand, I was experiencing dragon breath , so on a whim, I picked up some ketostix today at the pharmacy. I was sure I would test negative, but lo and behold, I tested a wee bit darker than 'trace', but not quite in 'low' for ketosis! I have been doing PPLP - 30-40 carb grams a day. I have also been drinking water like crazy. So now I'm really curious - are there any others on PP or PPLP that have found themselves in ketosis?

I know I took the test correctly. I read and followed the directions, waited exactly fifteen seconds to read the test, etc. One thing I have tried to do is make sure I spread my carbs out over the day, as much as possible, and I almost always eat them with some protein. Even when I plan a meal that has a meat, a salad and a bit of low-carb fruit, I usually save the fruit for later and eat it with some cheese or a little meat. Maybe that's helping - I don't know! I'm just really intrigued by this, and I would welcome any and all input. Thanks!

Umm, yes?

Even though ketosis is not featured as it is in Atkins, it's part of the PP weight loss process.

I am on PP and I use the ketosis sticks every day or every other day and every single time I test I get ketosis results. Mostly on the low end. And I don't drink much water as I can't stand the taste. I believe if you're diet is working properly and you are burning fat and not lean body mass you SHOULD be registering some ketosis. Just from what I've read in other forums and other sites.

exercise also causes more ketosis and therefore the stick-turning phenomenon.

A reminder: an absence of colored sticks doesn't mean a person is not in ketosis. They may be metabolizing the ketone bodies more efficiently, is all.
