It means that there is only 1 gram of carb that will affect your blood sugar. The others do not affect it.

So the 21 grams of Lacitol you can count as "fiber" sort of? If that's the case, I just learned something new

Thumbs up Sugar Free Hershey's products

All I can say is YUM!!! I just tried the Sugar Free Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and they are AWESOME!! Taste exactly like real ones. Walgreens in Portland/Vancouver have them on sale 2 small bags for $3. 5 of the mini Reese's have 3g Carbs.

I have tried the Hersheys and the Russell Stover SF candy. Both very good. That was what I missed on this WOE. Glad to have a substitute that is good.

Yeah I tried them. Sent me straight to the toilet.
So, I didn't learn my lesson the first time and tried them again. Right back to the toilet
I just gave up on eating sugar alcohols. They do not agree with me.If I want something sweet it is going to have to be some low carb fruit and maybe some whipped topping. It is all my tummy can handle.

Your not the only one Hippygal. I didn't notice the effect until 5 hours later. My stomach made weird noises that not even on my hungriest day I could imitate. Needless to say I had gas, grumbles, and a watery stool but those treats sure are tasty.

no.. lacitol is not fiber.. it is a sugar replacer.. the reason why some people do not have to count it is located in sinnat's last post.. it is only partially digested and has a minimal impact on your blood glucose..

Can you have them on induction? What is the difference between sugar and sugar alcohols.

New to Atkins!!!

yeah i cant add mine to fitday either.. i think probably more veteraned users have a better way of plugging it in, but as for me what ive done is made a CUSTOM FOOD for "extra calories" (just put in one calorie = one serving) and "extra carbs" (just put in one carb.. each carb = 4 calories so youll have to put that too; 1 carb and 4 calories = 1 serving).. so when i have a serving of russell stover SF caramels, i plug in "extra calories" and put 150 servings and then plug in "extra carbs" and put 1 serving.. it works for me I do that if I have eaten an Atkins bar also..

theres probably an easier way of doing this, but yeah, until fitday has a place for sugar alcohols and until that total shows up in the TOTALS box (so we can deduct it easily from carbs like we can with fiber), this is my answer

HTH some..

I feel your pain... I had the same problem at work. Problem is I was bartending alone and didn't dare leave my post. Reminded me of those "where will YOU be when your diahhrea kicks in" commercials...

BTW, there is quite a bit of debate about sugar alcohols, and just how many carbs they REALLY count for. Personally, aside from the *effects* I tend to stall if I don't use them VERY sparingly.
