Default Question for Everyone

I was just curious about something. How many of you have dessert with your reward meal. I don't mean fruit as a dessert. I mean a REAL dessert! haha cake, pie, etc.

Just curious.
Thanks, Cindy

I do! At the beginning of the week I make a treat (cookies, cream cheese bars, etc.) and DH and I have that for dessert. Usually I'm full enough from my meal that I don't have much, but it's nice to be able to have in the first place!

Cool Oh yeah!

The freedom to have desserts at my RM is what makes this program work so well for me. Without that, it is just another diet, and I am not good at those!

Feel free to peruse my journal if you want to know what kind of things I usually eat.

I have something for dessert every night. Formerly, in my low fat life, dessert was something saved ONLY for birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Now I plan and ENJOY something every evening with my RM. Maybe once the new wears off it won't be so important ( I don't think so ), but for now, I'm having my cake and losing too!

That's it exactly, Tracy. Without the reward meal there's no way I could stick to this diet (especially for the rest of my life!).

Deb,

Me too. I just can't kick the dessert. I really don't want to either. I was strict low fat until CAD so I enjoy my desserts fully.

Yet another reason to love CAD. Oh, lol there are three people at work that started CAD because of me. I'm glad I'm inspiring people, and decided from now on, I'm not gonna make excuses, I'm gonna be proud about. People need to learn about low carbing and this is a great plan to start with (and stay on!).

Generally, I do not have dessert as in pie or cake. I have something that I like a lot and miss on strictly low-carb, such as sweet potato, bread, or yogurt - tonight I had microwave popcorn for dessert. Usually I don't really feel like a sweet dessert. Sometimes I have a meal and a nice dessert with it totally without guilt.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. Now, I don't feel so guilty when I eat a piece of cake or pie with my RM.
Thanks, Cindy

My son and I LOVE ice cream. So now I buy CoolWhip, creamy style, and slop a quarter of it into a bowl, add some Nestle QUick - chocalate of course, and kill 2 cravings at once with not too much damage.

I cannot give up desserts, and neither can my son. So I was think of buying one of those brownie mixes from the site, and using them. Any one else ever tried them?

Smile absolutely

I definitely have dessert, whatever I desire today I had
pineapple cheese cake, yesterday I had carrot cake. As long
as I continue to lose I'll have the pie and cake.

I follow the Hellers' plan.

The plan says to include dessert.

I include dessert.

Me.. I do.. often.. a couple cookies, a piece of cake, a scoop of ice cream. But I do keep it to a minimum, and I eat the no sugar added ice cream more than anything.

Smile One thing I have noticed....

I went on a pie-kick for a while a couple of months ago. My weight loss stalled. However, when I eat chocolate or some other desserts, I haven't noticed the same effect. Fine with me, I like chocolate the best anyway I also eat homemade oatmeal-raisin cookies that I bake with about double the raisins. I find they are delicious and also very helpful in the fiber department

I include dessert for sure, most nights anyway. I couldn't make it on a diet if it wasnt' for the RM, as much for my own sanity as anything.

I have tried the brownie mix, it was okay, but I found the texture of the brownies unsatisfying, they were really spongy.
