It's the realization that what I eat today as very low carb does not represent a sacrifice of flavor or satisfaction that stands out after these experiences. Very helpful.

I haven't eaten a Cheeto in over 30 years, and never really liked the fake cheese taste or orange fingers, but the crunch was quite delightful. It would be great if we could, on demand, just dream our favourite carb eating and not feel the urge to actually consume them.

Hmmm. If I were to dream of cheating, I'd take donuts over cheetoes any day

My dad and I used to go to Mr. Donut after we were done fishing when I was a boy.

But I haven't had a donut since I went low carb. My father with his sweet tooth died from type 2 complications about 30 years ago, and it was one of the reasons why I quit eating sugar treats.

I'm now on the diet he should have been on. I've already lived longer than he did by a year.

This thread reminded me a time i was in the hospital and on a morphine drip. I couldn't have anything to drink, not even an ice cube and opiates make me terribly thirsty. I was dying for a sip of anything!
At some point my husband made the mistake of putting an iced tea from the vending machine right next to me on my table. I was so irritated .
In my drug induced haze, I had a fantasy that I was at home in our roof top pool, but it was filled with diet snapple, which I don't think I had since maybe the 90s
During multiple surgeries later on, where I had to water fast, my husband always has a big diet snapple tea ready for me after
For some reason water fasting makes me crave snapple every time now

My drinks in descending order are: Water, Tea (black, green, oolong), coffee and wine.

Everything but the wine is daily, and the wine is rarely.

Before Low Carb I drank a lot of juice (grape and orange mostly) thinking I was doing something healthy for myself.

There are good cake donut recipes. Good enough that my kids scoff them down. Baked not fried a plus.....frying is time consuming and messy.

I haven't dreamed about eating junk food, at least not lately, but I did recently dream that I fed my dog from a big bag of multicolored kibble, something that looked like the kind of junk I would never feed him.

Here ya go, Crunch Fans.

My Costco has started stocking pork rinds. 4505 Chicharones. On special for the month of January. I just opened the bag to check them out.

WAY better than Baken-ets, which is all I can get at my usual grocery. These 4505 pork rinds are bigger (for dipping) and very light crispy. Also, according to the description on the bag, they come from happy pigs.

However, just a little reminder: Too much of a good thing is still too much. So mind yourself accordingly.

Happy New Year!

I like pork rinds in a dip made with mascarpone and cheddar cheeses. Mmmmmmm.

Salty, crunchy, cheesy, and bacony - how can you go wrong with that?

The only problem is finding imported mascarpone cheese. My DW can't do US (A1) cheese but can do European, African and Australian (A2).

Ms Arielle, thanks for the suggestion, but I think one cake donut would exceed my <20 carb per day limit.

Looks good.

These snickerdoodle bites taste like a cinnamon donut hole and the ingredients are clean. Plus I don't have to make them myself (I'm self-employed - and that means I get to pick which 16 hours of the day I'm going to be working).

https://www.revolsnax.com/collectio...kerdoodle-bites

I have no affiliation with this company other than being an occasional customer. Two bites a week is more than enough for me.
