That's an interesting observation, "Aren't you worried about eating all that fat and red meat?"

I've heard this comment many times from anyone considering a lifestyle change, and these folks are conflicted due to the constant mantra they've heard over the years about the dangers of fat and red meat. It's hard to challenge that perception, and if there is a chance they don't have to sacrifice their current WOE due to this perception, they're not going to take that significant step towards health. The fat and red meat is unhealthy propaganda has left a trail of unhealthy eating habits that are hard to break.

Reading DANDR, if only to proove it was another failed diet , was truly revolutionary. It presented the science not a myth. Gave me the inspiration to try one more weight loss diet, the last attempt some 20 years prior, and it was a success for me.

It takes a sound bite to start a new thought, but so much more to inspire a real effort.

Many people are eating boneless, skinless, tasteless chicken breasts with hearth-health whole grains with a side of fruit or vegetables with everything cooked in heart-healthy vegetable oils. It is an extremely difficult undertaking to get them to change to an artery-clogging, high-meat-fat meal with a side of vegetables cooked in animals fat when almost the entire medical community supports the way that they are currently eating. I know because 18 years ago, I was one of those.

Unless the USDA changes their mandates of what school meal requirements must be, then we will continue to have school lunches like this one (today's high school menu in my school district).

Cheeseburger
Burger Toppings
Bosco Stick
Marinara Sauce
Italian Sandwich
Sandwich Condiments
Buffalo Chicken Salad
Burrito Bar
Yogurt Parfait
Vegetable Pizza
Pepperoni Pizza
Strawberry PBJ Sandwich
Green Beans
Garden Greens
Orange Smiles

As was I back in the day.

Glad someone feels the same way I do regarding boneless chicken breasts. Tasteless protein that I no longer consume.

You are supposed to dump a bottle of weight watchers dressing over it.

Chicken is a great base for wonderful sauces.... all homemade, fresh or frozen vegies.....makes a tastey stewlike meal......lots if variety possible. All starting with bland chicken breasts.

We love red thai curry!

( bone in prefered but I buy the best sale prices)

I don't eat chicken. The arachidonic acid bothers my bursitis and does the same to my wife's arthritis.

I miss it though. Fried WITH the skin on. Oh well, it's better to be pain free.

I don't know about grass fed chicken, and until now never heard of it.

I googled it and it seems interesting.

I know I can't eat fowl or egg yolks without my body telling me I did something wrong.

I tried pasture raised eggs, and they bothered my hip. I don't know if they were supplemented with corn, other feed, or not.

I find that sad, but I'd rather be pain free.

I gave up carbs to be healthy, and gave up fowl and egg yolks to be pain free. That makes me no fun to invite to dinner

But I'm healthy and without good health, you have nothing.

Bob

Not aware of any local free range chicken/eggs here that weren't fed corn scratch to supplement whatever they find on their own in owners' yards and fields. Don't know how arachadonic acid is affected by their corn consumption. Maybe chickens naturally have a lot more of it than, say, beef? Beef works better for me.

Bob. I purposely miss family holidays just to have my own food. so I get it.

I dont kniw enpugh about aa and chicken and eggs, just that it truly bothers some people.

Z, most people supplement grain to the grassfed hens snd broilers. The content however can vary. From GMO corn and soy to organic millet and other grains. Organic = non GMO The aa content may be a chicken thing reguardless of feed.
