I read somewhere that iodine can interfere with sleep. I have enough trouble sleeping so take the iodine in the morning. Magnesium seems to help my sleep, so I take that before bedtime. I've also started melatonin. I started with the lowest dose & have increased it once. I may be increasing it again - or maybe take an extra dose when I first wake up in the night, which is usually between 11 & 1. I get back to sleep just fine then, but the 3 am wakefulness can keep me up for an hour or more - sometimes I don't get back to sleep at all.

One book that has taught me so much about Iodine and it's uses is "The Iodine Crisis" by Lynne Farrow. You will be astonished by the info in this book! Did you know that during the Civil War soldiers carried a container with Iodine? In France it has been used for hundreds of years to clear the lungs.
It detoxes the body of Fluoride and Bromide.
Fluoride is in many pharmaceutical drugs and the damage it
causes is too much to list but it's in the book. Bromide is very toxic and is in all fire retardants/mattresses and in so many items that it's unreal and It hogs the receptor that absorbs Iodine. In the 70s they took Iodine out of the bread and added toxic Bromide instead.
Take it with Selenium.
