This is a very apt description of Keys and consistent with everything I've read. He was forceful to the point of being the inspiration behind the Food Pyramid with McGovern and his "team" as pawns. Thus, it all started and all those startling photos of street and city scenes from the late 40s through the 60s where it was very difficult to find anyone even remotely obese are stark reminders. The quest to cure heart disease traveled along a very misinformed path.

I agree, Rob. And it shouldn't have a thing to do with how "nice" anyone is! This is supposed to be science.

It is supposed to be about results.

My biggest picture of Keys was his Minnesota Starving Experiment. When the subjects, conscientious objectors to WWII, began showing signs of mental distress, to the point of self-injury, he kept on.

One of those "experiment never to be repeated" kinds of things that the code of ethics now prohibits. Because people like Keys won't do it, otherwise.
