Hope your ankle is well. I attended a school where I was poorly treated last semester, it was awful for me to keep going. I was having glucose test several times a day and watched my blood sugar levels increasing daily. I went to the dr who told me I was probably becoming diabetic. My nurse friend who works in diabetes research said I was dumping sugar into my blood from the stress. I finally dropped the school and my blood sugar went back to normal.

Thanks! Minor sprain, but nothing that won't heal quickly. While I was reading, I came across a bunch of info about diabetes and stress, too, as you've pointed out. It's so fascinating. I really came away thinking that all those recommendations to lower your stress when trying to lose weight--or that it causes weight gain--aren't just a bunch of hippie-crystal b.s. after all.

Lizzy--Welcome back! I'm just back after a long hiatus myself.

Default I did it again.

I ate a whole package of pork rinds - vinegar and salt flavor (0 carb). Then I ate 4 servings of seaweed (2 carbs) 3000 mg of sodium in all! I drank a liter of fluid with this mess and now my pants are tight.

Maybe I should have just had a brownie?

ahahah nawchem - I have totally done that LOTS. what is a good treat but probably less sodium would be almond butter + cream cheese (and some spenda). I use to freeze them into balls and eat if I was craving desserts lots.

also - for sure not all calories are equal!

Citygirl - hope you're feeling better and your school/blood sugar issues is very interesting. I'm happy you had a friend to help you out.
Nawchem - I can relate. I'm more of a salt/crunch person than sweets.

Do you guys mind? I usually go buy the pound number only and ignore the ounces. I have math phobia. There may be a formal word for that

Apparently, my body is not into losing weight right now. But it also might be salty food--I had bacon for breakfast and then soup with two kinds of cheese in it for dinner that's pretty salty. I have one of those scales that measures body fat % and hydration %. I mostly ignore the hydration, but it was up this morning along with my weight.

Nawchem, we have to lay off the salty food!

Lizzy--thanks for your well wishes. It's annoying, but not crippling--Ace bandage, Arnica, rest.

lizzy I think the thing is to be consistent, the ounces aren't important IMO.

I'm having issues with what to eat after work. 6hr 2nd shift. I don't eat at work, and I'm really hungry after work. On my plan you only eat carbs once a day

I'll be eating differently a few days. My landlord gave me a ton of Korean fish. Haven't the faintest idea on the carb count on this one. It is delicious.
