Muddy Gurl - you mentioned you have a benign tumor in your kidney and that it may be affecting your eGFR. How are you sure that dietary fat is affecting eGFR?

Speaking of artificial sweeteners, apparently some can raise insulin without raising glucose. That's important if you buy into Fung's theory (as I do) that insulin is the root problem with diabetes/high blood sugar/overweight.

Default MIsunderstanding me

Hi Liz, I think you have misunderstood a couple comments I made.

1. I said i had NO IDEA if it WAS high fats causing decline..but all other factors being normal-BP-LDL/Hd,sleep, etc by deduction of possibilities of why such a serious drop in the same 60 days of the diet.… I was applying a correlation, not a cause, and was being prudent to back off fats until I knew more.

2. I said I loved butter and I hated to give up LC, but would if I had to.

3. I have no idea if the cyst means anything as NO Urology appt yet. This is the danger of posting info to share publicly; I will wait in future.

4. I am more focused on Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution book as I learn more about overweight, and high BG, insulin, and its relation to kidneys.

5. Dr. Fung's program is open to anyone for diabetes, and weight loss too it looks like.

Check out his program, it is mostly a dietitian who oversees your foods, and serious weekly fasting of 24-36 hr+ on your own. Plus provide your own doc for labs and checkups.
(and I am ignoring the Uro who apparently has not read a study on saturated fats since 2001..she believes butter will give me heart disease. If I say anything she will think am self diagnosing and treating….with help like hers, I have to)<grin>
