One suggestion: perhaps you need to eat fewer meals, even though you can eat the same amount of food. Switching to bigger, less frequent, meals did great for me.

Are you feeling satisfied with the amount of food you are eating. One of the awesome things about doing low carb is that you can eat a little more of the no carb foods if you aren't quite feeling full.

Sometimes as counter intuitive as it seems, not eating enough can prevent you from losing. Although you are losing some which is still keeping you going in the right direction.

Im not thinner but less bloated. I just gave up the nuts to see if that is the problem. same 172 today.
Yesterday: 1 egg (in butter) and bulletproof coffee
atkins shake (caught with nothing)
small steak, 4 grilled shrimp, a couple asparagus with butter, iceberg lettuce wedge with blue cheese, bacon bits, 3 cherry tomatoes red onion. (Outback)

Good morning -

I agree with Lorelai...it is very counter intuitive, but you might not be eating enough. Perhaps not drinking enough water?

I thought I was doomed to extremely slow weight loss as well. When I decreased my carbs to nearly 0, I wasn't necessarily eating less, just a whole lot less carbs. It was this that made me realize I may not have been as strict as I should have been.

I like the original '72 version of Atkins...it really takes you to a very low level and helps quickly switch your body to a fat burner so long as you are not ingesting foods that your body will use first as energy...with the absence of carbs, you will get to and stay in Ketosis which in turn burns YOUR fat.

My thoughts on your menu as posted: the almond butter, the cherry tomatoes, the onion and even the dressing could be enough to keep you from achieving the results you want to see. Besides that, your body does NOT want to lose its fat and it can take several weeks to make it realize what you're doing is a good thing. Help it along by staying the course...it will eventually catch up.

So much good information on this forum - my best wishes to you as your journey continues -
Deanna

That's not a bad menu, considering your challenges... "caught with nothing" and OUTBACK

Impatience is absolutely not your friend. For instance, I don't own a scale, and the only times I know the actual pressure fastening me to the earth is when I go to the doctor and when I get on the package weighing system at work to update my stats, here.

I go strictly by pants! Lot less pressure on me... and actually more accurate, don't you think? What do I care what I weigh, when it's how I look in pants that really matters!

Especially since we are denser on low carb, and will weigh MORE at the same size.

Yes. I have given up nuts and I just think that calories do count at some point. Was down to 171.6 today. Any movement down is good. Yesterday I ate in the morning my usual but then only ate once later. Had a chefs salad. Calories might be key and I'll be more cognizant of amounts.
