Default Do you weigh every day?

I'm pretty sure I've asked you maintainers this question before...but it's been awhile and there are quite a few more of you now.

So do you weigh every day? I do and here's why.

(this is a response to a post in another thread)

It's just become a healthy habit and I use the information gleaned to make adjustments to my woe, with the knowledge that I can fluctuate from 1-3 lbs up or down each day. When the weight is up I'm much more careful about my foods that day. Simple and brilliant...and helps to keep me on track.

Just curious about the rest of you. Do any of you relax with the scale?

Yes, I weigh myself daily, and my answer as to why can be found here:

Question of the week: As a maintainer, how often do you weigh yourself?

Yes, I do too, have done for years. I know it's not the correct way, but then I feel I have control.
Wishing you a great week. :-)

I work away from home Monday to Thursday so when I get home on a Friday morning I am on the scales before I even say hello to my family I think, if I was at home all week, I would be a daily weigher

As a long term maintenance person, I no longer weigh daily. I used to do it daily, religiously.
Now, I weigh about 3-4 times a week. I find that its enough for me.

Daily for me, keeps me on track. It doesn't impact on my headspace or mood. It has in the past, but not now.

I too weigh daily but only record it once a week (thus not fixating on the fluctuations but staying accountable and in control) - Monday is my official weigh-in day.

When I weigh myself daily my weight is stable. When I stop weighing daily my weight slowly starts to increase.

I weigh and write down my food each day. I noticed the other day that one thing is different for me on maintenance. Though I faithfully write down the carbs each day, I no longer make an effort to keep them low. They seem to stay at around 180-230 a day, for me, eating natural food, and this doesn't seem to be a problem.

I regained over 20lbs. because I stopped weighing daily. Skipping one day turned into skipping a few days, which turned into a week which turned into......fat!!!! I skipped because I was too chicken (make that breaded chicken!) to face the consequences of my slide back into poor eating choices.

I weigh every day as it is "instant gratification" for my staying on a diet.

Thats the thing about still being in weight loss mode...you do get that hit of instant gratificaton when you see losses on a regular basis.

When I first hit goal and began to maintain, I realized that I would no lnger get that hit from my daily weighing and had to find it from staying the same.

Not seeing this way of eating as a diet is what makes it easier to maintain for me now as it is just the way I eat.

So true... In the weight loss mode, i weighed in once a week, as the daily varies would drive me crazy. Now, I like to see where I am daily. I thought I would never say that, but now that I am here, it is a reward. Maybe after being here a while, it won't be so wonderful, but right now.... I like it.
