I have no big problem with Tuesday - it's only that I'm out all morning on Tuesdays so going out again in the evening seems like overkill! If Tuesday is better for anyone else, that works for me too! And yeah, I have no problem with a 4-year old.

And if the men are low-carbers also, they are certainly welcome. The only reason John doesn't want to come is that he is pretty hard of hearing and feels like he's a bump on a log at any of these get-togethers cause he doesn't hear well enough to take part in any conversation.

This'll also give us a chance to make some plans for Christine's (Shyvas') visit at the end of the month. I've been thinking that a van-load to Mill Bay on Sunday the 23rd, might be the easiest to arrange.

I'm not sure what the laws are as regards children eating in pubs - it seems to me I've been in several where family groups were eating. The Flying Beagle in Cook Street Village comes to mind. You might want to 'phone them and ask.

I believe it's a licensed restaurant, not a pub 'only' where the main function is to sell beer.

hi, I just phoned them on (250) 479-3346 and asked for the reseration for Elsie as I didn't know if it was in the restaurant or the pub, and they said they didn't have any reservations for Elsie, so maybe the reservation is under a different name.

Also I emailed them prior to calling and got the following response:

'Hi Erika - you can bring children into the Restaurant - it is just the Pub that has the underage restrictions. How many in your party? Cheryl'

Are we going to the pub or the restaurant?

If we are going to the restaurant I will bring Jemma (almost 4) and Bryan. If we are going to the pub I might or might not bring Bryan depending on whether his dad can babysit for us or not. Bryan is happy to do either way.

Well, I see by their website that they offer the wings, meatballs & prawns day in both the pub and the restaurant, so the restaurant sounds good and it's probably not as noisy. We don't usually make a reservation when we're meeting at the beginning of the week, just whoever gets there first tells the greeter how many we'll be (approx.) and that the others will be looking for "Elsie's" table.

By the way, seeing it's as cold and blustery as it is , I'll be wearing a bright pink winter sweat shirt under a black fleece vest.

the restaurant, great

I am not sure Bryan and Jemma are coming, right now they are both very tired because we had an early start this morning (I had to have an ingrown toenail at the podiatrist), but maybe by five in two hours they are willing to come as well.
