I'd say something like---how can eliminating junk, processed food and sugar, and eating whole foods, fresh green leafy veg, nuts, low glycemic fruits and dairy not be healthy??? Also tell them that whole fats are needed for infant brain growth (whole meaning things like butter, meat fats, nut oils etc..)

Oh!! I do say something like that.....everyday... to my patients whether breastfeeding or pregnant

Progress not perfection.

I'd say it depends on your milk supply. Some women dry up in ketosis, but others (according to this thread) don't. If you do up your carbs, do it sensibly using low sugar fruits, root veggies, squash and green veggies, not grains or sugar, not fruit juices, not soda. Eat like your caveman ancestors would've eaten. It'll be better for you and the baby.
