Would xanthum gum work? Or that 'thickn thin - not starch' stuff?

If this helps, I stole this recipe from an Australian forum:

Quote:
CHINESE SESAME CHICKEN STIR FRY

1/2 lb Chicken (slice into pieces)
½ Onion (slice)
1 tablespoonful of sesame oil
1 heaped tablespoonful of cashew nuts
1 heaped teaspoonful of sesame seeds

* Slice onion and chicken into pieces
* Heat oil in wok/pan over medium heat
* Stir fry chicken, onion, sesame seeds and cashew nuts
* Add sesame oil
* Sprinkle salt and pepper
* Simmer gently for 3 minutes

Total Carbohydrate : 9g Total Fat : 9.6g Total Protein : 23.6g

IMO, you can swap the chicken out for beef or seafood, if you want.

Yeah, no kidding Bruce. And not JUST flatulence. I think back to 2003 when DH and I were doing Atkins together. I "discovered" Breyer's sugar-free ice cream -- I thought, what the heck and DH and I had 1/2 cup, then another 1/2 cup, then another...and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom -- thank goodness we have more than one toilet in our house! LOL! At the risk of being very gross, I must say that I don't think that my colon has ever been so well-cleansed.

Yuk. No more sugar alcohols for me.

I wanted to just pop in here and say thank you for this thread... I am pretty new here and this thread as well as many others really helped me!!!

And now, that I have been Low Carbing it for 8 days, I can tell you one thing that I have found to be really helpful...

The "My P.L.A.N." tool!

I created a thread about my love for it but will also re state my excitment myself here.

This tool is really great because it helps track your carbs, fat and protein by food item and amount. It gives you a daily ratio of each as you add in your meals. You are able to put in custom menu items as well as recipes so you don't have to enter each item of your low carb shepards pie EVERY TIME, for example.

It also allows you to track your weight in a graph format witch is cool to see it visually in front of you. Measurements too.

It is just really great! And if you get confused at first there is tech support and the form as well to help you get to know your P.L.A.N.

SO MUCH GOOD TO BE FOUND HERE IN THE FORUM!!!!!!!!

I am grateful to have found it!

Default The End..Of Induction...Comments

(Hi All, this was posted under Atkins but there was a request to also post it here. Hope it is helpful)

Ah, the end is here. It has been a tough two weeks but so worth it. 10 pounds, which is about 50% of my goal. I'm ready to graduate to OWL.

A few comments (just my advice) based on my experiences for anyone who is starting or in the middle of induction:

-Do not attempt to satisfy your cravings with Atkins products - it is a STALL waiting to sabotage you.

-Don't wait until you have leg cramps, get the potassium and /or magnesium supplements early on if you experience these symptoms.

-Get a crock pot and make your LC meals early in the day. They'll reward you later with smelling great and being ready to eat when you are hungry

-You will have days that you have stalls or gains

-Don't go overboard on the water - I think I drank way too much in the beginning and found myself heavy with water weight

-Satisfy sweet carvings with n/c jello with a touch of whipped cream

-lose your fear of fat foods and salt

-use MY P.L.A.N - plan your eats and eat and your PLAN

-Discover the two best things to ever happen to someone in induction, non sweetened almond milk and the 1 minute muffin.

-PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE

- if any or all of the above fails, ask for help. This forum is amazing!

And, you can set it so that others can see it. It appears as a button in your forum posts. They can then see what you eat, etc and provide feedback.
