Sorry to see a few names dropped for lack of participation - I hope that means they're maintaining well and don't feel the need for support any more, and not that they're having problems and are embarrassed to admit it!

Anyway, I hope it's a good week to all the rest of us! Them too, if they're lurking!

Funny how when I'm on-plan and motivated, all of the sudden, the freezing-cold trip naked through the house to the cold room where the scale is, doesn't seem so bad.

I don't know what I weigh, haven't been this big in a while - guessing 155-160. I was a size 8, but look better at size 10. Starting over again....

Denise, I hope you can get back to where you want to be. You know we are here if you need help.

Question

After going back several weeks, I noticed that my weight fluctuates a great deal compared to other maintainers. Is this something I should be worried about?

I seem to stay within the same 10 pound weight range, but everyone else seems to move MAYBE a pound or two weekly.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
Sorry that you've been so sick and I do hope that you are feeling better very soon!!
As far as your 10 lb swings in weights....it really is a personal choice....where you feel good about your maintenance.
I would not be happy with a 10 lb swing in my weight. I allow myself a 3 lb swing.
I also have a number on the scale that gets me to make more of an effort with my food to get the number back down again. It used to be my goal of 160 when I first hit goal. Then it became 156-157 and I held that for a couple of years.
Now its 154 and if I get to that or go over, , I get very real about it all and work it back down again.

Denise.....So sorry that you are struggling!! I know that you'll get a handle on it.

Pengu1, I also strive to keep myself in a 2-3 lb range at this point, but everyone is different. When I was in my twenties, I accepted a normal variation of between 120 and 130 during the year because I was always more physically active in spring and summer. So I knew what went up would come down.

But gaining or losing 4 lbs in a week has to be water weight, I would think. You'd have to be consuming an extra 2000 calories per day to gain 4 lbs in a week according to Diet nation

If you average out where you want to be, I'm not sure I would worry about bigger fluctuations than other people have.

Cheers,
Sid

Traveling this week and found a French bakery with the worlds best looking and tasting pecan pie. Simply could not resist and devoured two servings. Then discovered perhaps the worlds best tasting calamari with potato wedges and garlic toast. Two evenings and two dinner servings later, gained almost five pounds.

Suspect I may be a little late with our Monday weigh-in.

Best wishes.

Fat Bo
