Okay, I finally broke down and ordered this today. Cheap shipping on Amazon so it'll probably be end of the week, early next week before I get it. I'll post after I've watched it - can't wait! (Unless, of course, it comes on Monday - NOTHING gets in the way of me watching House M.D.!! LOL Sorry, Tom!)

That and Tom, behind a column, in what looked like a dark parking garage (ala deep throat) whispering..."follow the money"

Hey, ReginaW and Nancy LC --

Sometimes you just get lucky, like when you spend all day doing sidewalk interviews and happen to get a woman from Russia named Natasha.

Moose and Squirrel, Follow the Money ... my wife pointed out that I'm showing my age. I had to explain Moose and Squirrel to her.

Glad you enjoyed the film. I've seen it so many times, in so many drafts, truth is I'm kind of numb to it at this point.

Best,
Tom

WOW - I ordered Fat Head at Amazon yesterday morning, they said it'd take at least 5 days with the shipping I chose (cheapest possible) - checked the order this morning and it's heading to my doorstep TODAY!! Wow!!! So I guess I'll get to watch it tonight!

How young do you have to be not to know Rocky and Bullwinkle?

Hmmm... maybe I just caught the tail end....... or maybe I'm not that young!

Not sure when the good cartoons started going away. My wife was born in 1972. I was starting high school and not watching cartoons by then.

I have to admit, though: I sometimes watch Phineas and Ferb with my girls, and I laugh harder than they do. Plenty of bits obviously included for the adults.

LOL

I love Phineas and Ferb! (Perry is my hero)

Of course, I do miss hearing "Help me Mr. Wizard!!!" and I can still sing the theme song to Tennessee Tuxedo and I do a mean Chumley impression

(In case you haven't guessed already, I was born in 63)

Ok I was born in 1983 (do you feel old yet?) and even I watched Rocky and Bullwinkle as a kid.

I just tried to add Fat Head to my netflix queue. The movie is listed on the website but it says it's not available for rent yet. Bummer. If I get impatient enough I might buy it.

Ahhh, yes. The good old days. I can actually do a pretty good Tennessee Tuxedo. Don Adams, as you recall, when he wasn't being Maxwell Smart.

I asked the distributor what the heck was going on with Netflix. He said they agreed to carry Fat Head, took the artwork, etc., but didn't get in their purchase order until this week. So it will show up, but could be a few days.

Of course, for purely selfish reasons, I'm always happy when people buy the film instead of renting it.

Okay, so I got home last night and Fathead was on my doorstep! Settled in after my workout and dinner and spent almost two happy hours with the cat asleep on top of me watching. As much as I enjoyed the whole thing, I think I enjoyed the interviews at the end just as much as the rest of it! Loved the "follow the money" thing - reminiscent of X Files scenes! Loved, loved the expressions on the docs face at the last checkup - incredulous is understating it! And too funny to watch - love it when people have their "firm convinctions" about health turned upside down!

I liked the entire premise of the film, which seemed to be that we have BRAINS people - use them!! Film did a good job of driving home the point that just 'cause it's on the evening news doesn't necessarily make it so, and the film did a good job in a short amount of time showing how god-awful the "research industry" has been about disseminating the truth.

Overall, quite good - I'm going to lend it to a woman here at work who, at 350+ pounds is struggling to lose 10 pounds on a low-fat diet.

As a capitalist pig, I am rooting for you and want you to make lots of money. However, I wonder how much you get when someone rents the movie? Is it only pennies?
8 customer reviews at amazon... I hope this is not a reflection of how many movies have sold?

Actually I think the "follow the money" is probably from the movie made about Woodward and Bernstein unraveling the Watergate scandal in the Nixon administration. They kept getting anonymous phone calls from an FBI guy telling them to follow the money and they did which eventually unraveled the whole thing.

Oh! Everyone, go write a review on Amazon. It's very easy.

I loaned my copy to a co-worker (sorry Tom!). To my amazement, the movie actually converted her to low carb. She's become an overnight zealot, she's trying to get everyone she knows to watch it, haha - her big hispanic family (good luck!), her friends, our colleagues at work, etc.

That's the good news, the bad news is that somehow she got the idea from the movie that a sensible low carb diet inlcudes eating MacDonald's quarter pounders with the bun. I dont think that was really the intended message there but she does keep her carbs otherwise lowish (under 80 or so), so it might be ok.
