Amazing how complicated this can get with only 4 of us (most of the time) trying to come to agreement. Can you imagine if we were trying to coordinate 8 or 10 of us? I guess we'd have to pick a regular time (like the 2nd Tuesday of the month) and just all try to work our schedules around that.

Ok, my turn to be difficult - I'm supposed to go to Vancouver on the 22 now.... Also, the 26th is out for dinner.

I'm inviting everyone to my personal pity party - it's the party of the year.

As you know my temporary job of the last 18 months was posted as perm. a few weeks ago. I wrote the test and the interviews are today. There are four candidates being interviewed and I am NOT one of them.

Anyone know of a job opening for a slightly used civil servant...

I need to make a move to somewhere in the next 3-4 weeks unless I want my old job back (I don`t - for a variety of reasons including the fact that all the dominoes behind me are my friends).

Can I have a loud chorus of `waaaaahhhhhhhh``

I`m feeling a little ego bruised right now as you can probably imagine.

Julie, I've never worked for government so I don't have a clue how these things work, but is there any chance that you weren't among those being interviewed because they already know you and didn't feel an interview was necessary? That maybe you're their first choice and the other four were being interviewed to give the appearance of open competition?

If that's not possible, then yes - WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!

Thanks Glenda but I didn't qualify for an interview at all. The only way I will get to stay on is if none of the four are offered and accept the position, then I stay as temporary until a new competion would be run. If that happened, I could apply again but it's pretty rare that they wouldn't pick someone.

So waaaaah applies completely.

I spent yesterday calling everyone I could think of and have a line on something. On Monday I am going to meet with someone about a position that isn't advertized yet... Fingers crossed!
