I had a funny feeling that I should check in here this afternoon!!!

I'd rather reschedule than risk getting sick right now.

Anyone know how to contact Janet? I can call Glenda....

Today I had EIGHTEEN dogs to walk in this STORMY weather! I am done in, so it's a mixed blessing that I don't have to leave my cosy house tonight!

*phew!*

Looks like a night for steak and hot chocolate.

We've got left-over chicken to go with the "soup to go" I got at Cedar Hill Golf Club at noon. As I told Julie, the lunch excursion was probably enough strain on the rib for one day, especially as blustery as it's turned out to be! So Jude, sorry as I am to hear you're feeling even slightly under the weather, the timing was perfect for me. Steph, I don't envy you out there but it's got to do wonders for your disease resistance!

Anyhow, this soup ... I've got to see if I can figure out how they make it sooooo goooooodddd!!! They call it Chicken Cajun Soup, it has very little rice (if they have a lot of rice leftover they make a mulligatawny) and has, of course, a tomato base. Lots of chicken, tomato, green olives, hmmmm..... gotta make veggie notes while I'm eating tonite. Then, maybe with Jude's help, I can work out what the spices might be.

Forgive me ... I'm rambling! Not sure about the 7th. Are both the 12th & 19th out (too lazy to go back and look )? How about the 14th or 21st?

Heaven help me but I will likely be travelling (for work) on the 14th. A certain someone is going to FLIP!!!

The 19th is out - concert night.

Any other night I can make work....

Jude - feel better
Glenda - get better
Steph - enjoy the hot chocolate
Janet - hope to see you soon
Anny - miss you!

Julie

Hi, everybody!

Wow, you all sure have eventful lives. I've just been working then trying to recover so I can go back the next day. It's really pleasant, though, my colleagues and boss are great and the work's interesting and worthwhile so I can handle it a couple more months.

Glenda, look forward to hearing your rib-ticklin' (sorry story. Glad to hear you're on the mend. DH was at Cedar Hill a couple days ago and mentioned that soup--he liked the olives in it. Let me know if you work out a recipe.

Miss you too, Julie and everybody. Stay healthy! There sure is some bug going around--sore throat and other nastiness. We're both fighting it ourselves.

Also thanks to the windstorm, right now we've got a piece of sheet metal flapping off the roof of the duplex. Hope it stays there and doesn't go slicing through the electrical and cable wires right next to it! We moved all the cars out of the way anyway.

cheers, stay well!
SP

I guess we still haven't come up with a day when we're all available - I have to add a new "can't make it day" to my list - I'm having a major session with the dentist on the 28th (yep ... getting my new teeth!). The 21th is awkward, but I can make it work and the 26th still works.

Sure hope we don't have to write off February!!!!

Glenda

I'm not available the 21st or 26th so just make your plans without me this time. Janet

Both 21 and 26 work for me for dinner.

Too bad it's not good for you Janet!

I've pencilled in the 26th (I'm learning NOT to "ink" anything in until after it's actually happened)!!

Anny and Janet, it feels like ages since we've seen you - maybe that's cause it IS ages!!!!! Would a half-hour later work better for either of you? Stephy, if the "turtle club" is what I think it might be, I guess I qualify! I've been bouncing around the same 5 lbs for a full year now. Belly fat has to be the hardest to get rid of!

It's ridiculous, isn't it?? I was so steady at 1.5-2 lbs. per week and then *BOOM*...NUTHIN.'

I'm looking on the bright side...maybe this slow-down will give my skin a chance to adjust?? (*snap back?*)(*wishful thinking*)

OK...I've also penciled in the 26th at 5:30pm. So, that'll be the day unless Janet can find an evening away!

I'm afraid you'll have to have dinner with out me this time - nothing really works for me for the rest of the month between work schedule & other evening committments (am going out of town near end of month & have a couple of other things going on in the evening). Janet
