SBmama37: That is funny that it was your resolution too. Great minds really do think alike! Welcome!

Synne: I am secretly hoping for more than a 100lb weight loss also, maybe we will be pleasantly surprized! Thanks for joining

JustKate: My name is Kate too! Welcome and even 85 in a year is awsome.

Redcandy: Welcome! We can do it!

AmandaLee: In 2008 we will all be atleast 75lbs lighter, Welcome!

ldypgmr: 50 is a big year, what a perfect birthday present to give yourself! Welcome!

Mr. E: Thanks for joining. I agree with breaking the year into sections. I am planning on loosing between 8 and 10 lbs a month.

Okay guys lets get this started. If everyone can head over the "official" thread in the challenge forum and post their start weight/currentweight/goal weight/pounds lost. I would put in a link to the thread but I dont know how, so if anyone else knows how go for it.

As long as it is OK I will post my losses in here. Do with them what you will.

Week one (ending 1/13) Loss: 18.6 pounds.

Big boy - lots of water loss - etc. But YES...18.6 pounds in one week. Won't happen again. :-)

I will post my weight loss here as well. I want to combine lots of exercise with the weight loss. I have been watching the biggest looser and they don't have a lot of loose skin once they are at goal!!! Count me in for that as well.

I ordered several of the Biggest Looser exercise CD's. I can sure buy into the amount of weight they loose each week!!!

I think this will get you to the challenge thread for the 100 pounds lost in 2008
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...19&page=1&pp=15

But I am hoping we can post here as well because when I have just a few minutes online, TDC is usually the place I go to check in.

WOW Mr. E! That is a fabulous first week

Thanks again Mrs. K for starting this contest!

Hey all. I'd like to join in. I'd love to lose 100 lbs this year, but I'd be really, really happy with just 61 if that's all I can manage.

I put together a chart last night, for goal weight, actual weight and measurements.. and dates every 2 weeks. Figuring on 5/week for the first month, and 2.5/week after that.. I *should* reach my goal by the end of September.

Never had an over eating problem, but my thyroid's proven itself a force to be reckoned with. I think we may have beaten it into submission, and figure I may have a chance now. I'm on Armor Thyroid and now DHEA also. I've given up on cardio, and finally decided that the key to me losing weight is to just slab on some muscle like crazy. I think all of that, combined with low carb (which has proven the only way I can lose weight at all!) should be a powerful enough combo to get me there!
