actually found a show just this week that is more motivating. How To Look Good Naked with Carson from Queer Eye as the host.

That show is FANTASTIC! I can't say enough good stuff about it. I love the part where the girls have to place themselves in a line up based on how fat they think they are compared to the other girls. It really illustrates how distorted many people's body image is.

I had heard of How to Look Good Naked, but haven't gotten to see it, so I did a search for their site. Would you believe Sylvan Learning Center came up? hmmm. I don't think posing naked is one of the classes they teach. But anyway, if anyone is interested, here is the site for Naked, http://www.channel4.com/life/micros...tlgn/index.html

Lots of stuff to look through. Interesting site, now I have to see the show!

It is odd that they have no problem showing peoples' breasts but airbrush out the nipples.

They have 1,600 a day.

And I must ask again.... who says that "most of them gain the weight back"? Where are you getting this info? Google the players from season one and see how many of them have kept the weight off.

As far as th show "demoralizing" people trying to lose weight. I submit to you that it only takes the wind to blow the wrong direction for most to find a reason to "give up" on a diet or exercise program. So I would not be surprised to hear that someone watched the show and said "gee its to hard to lose weight". And that is the shows fault how?

"while the message of the show is inspiring, it is also unrealistic. The Biggest Loser achieves rapid transformations—contestants often drop more than 9 kg in a week—through calorie restriction, endless exercise and no small amount of dehydration that occurs behind the scenes. Ryan Benson, 38, an actor who works for a DVD distributor in Los Angeles, lost 55 kg to win the first season in January 2005 but says he regained 14.5 kg within five days simply by drinking water. Matt Hoover, 31, a motivational speaker based in Seattle, had a 7-kg rebound within a day of winning Season 2. Last season's runner-up, Kai Hibbard, 28, an aerobics instructor in Alaska who says she spent the night before her final weigh-in hopping in and out of a sauna for six hours, consumed only sugar-free Jell-O for several days and wolfed down asparagus, which is a natural diuretic. "It's amazing the things you learn in a weight-loss competition," she says."

Are you on the show's payroll or something?

Yeah I agree sounds bad.....but read the mans blog. He wanted to win so bad he did not eat or drink for days before the final weigh in. Well then after the show he gained the water weight back. Duhhh.

"In the five days after the show was over I gained about 32 lbs. Not from eating, just from getting my system back to normal (mostly re-hydrating myself). "

You make it sound as if ALL the players gained back EVERY pound and more after the show was over!!!

You just cant admit that sure some will fail....they always do. And you have to blame the show for thier failure?!?! If thats your logic then you would have to CREDIT the show for those who did keep most of the weight off and have gone on to lead healthy, active lives!

But in the end you will read what you want. Someone who lost 150 pounds on the show gains back 15, 20 heck even 40 pounds and you will scream "look they gained it back!". Well sure some... but its still over a 100 pound weight loss!!

Glass half empty of half full?

So... I saw an interview yesterday with one of the former participants on Biggest Loser... she spends 4 HOUR A DAY at the gym. Tell me again how this is sustainable and realistic?

It's easy Nancy. We just quit our jobs, go on welfare, and donate plasma to pay for our gym memberships.
