Default what about fast food?

ok so I want to know what everyone thinks of fast food?

Here are my thoughts

I saw the Burger King commercial about making the whopper jr a 1 dollar menu item and I could not believe it, do we really need to make this crap more affordable? or making the Texas Whopper. Does the Whopper honestly need to be bigger?

It honestly kills me that we have all these commercialsinf influencing everyone to buy this crap. Does the FDA know whats in this stuff?

Like margarine its so bad and yet its priced at like 50 cents come on.
Oh Im just venting cause I cant believe it.

Yup.. I agree... ever see the stuff on the value menu at Jack in the Box? Every Item on there is very questionable, Esp. the tacos!! But Hey! You get 2 for 99 cents! That's some real cheap poison there. NEways, Ever since I saw "Supersize ME", I got turned off by food burger joints.

And of course it cost more and takes a bit longer to eat healthy, but now a days people like cheap and fast, so even though the fast food industry is "trying" to have healthier choices, you gotta ask yourself, is it really? The chicken salad at Wendy's is just as bad as the cheese burger.

It is?! That was my stand by when I didn't have time to pack a lunch. The chicken BLT salad. I thought it was safe.

the thing that kills me is that we have obese families, and it is because it is cheaper in our society to eat junk, then to eat healthy food! For example, at mcdonalds, you can get a full big mac meal deal for 5 bucks roughly, yet a simple salad will run about 6ish!! How stupid is that???

I know when I need to grab a quick ff lunch, I'll get wendy's side salad, $.99. I works for me, I just pull as many shreaded carrots off as I can. So with half pack of dressing it like 5 carbs. Mcdonalds also has a value manu side salad, I'm pretty sure that just started it.

If you are looking for Atkins/Low Car Friendly and cheap and quick, the dollar burgers are the way to go. I take 2 burgers, toss the buns, and make a burger sandwich out of the two. Oh Checkers usually has great deals and double burgers. Toss the bread and eat. Calories Im sure is a killer but cheap, quick and easy.

Oh, I don't know...I paid $5.00 for 2 plain burgers with no bun this past week. The dollar menu would sound good on a day like that

It's a sad state when it is cheaper to buy a big mac supersize meal than a lousy salad!

If I *had* to eat from a burger joint then Burger King would be the one I would go to. The burger patties are run through a grill so they are similiar to being bbqued and you can get them ordered the way you want. I'd get 2 and ask for extra tomato, onion and lettuce on them and turn that into a mini salad. Then I'd eat the meat and that mini salad and toss the buns to the seagulls that constantly hang around the place.

As for margerine....it *is* maddening that the crap is so cheap. I never buy it and save all my bacon and chicken fat to cook my eggs in.

At KFC I get the chicken ceasar salad wihtout the croutone. OR at my favorite low carb shoppe, I get the roast beef lettuce wraps...Easy.

I don't like fast food restaurants. With the possible exception of Subway, which I eat at every month or so.
I am 43 yrs old. I have probably eaten drive thru type food about 2 dozen times in my life.
My son is 2 1/2 I don't plan on ever having him eat fast food. He can go when he can drive there.

That is including the croutons that I know I don't eat on it. And if you get caeser dressing instead of the honey mustard included in your total. I also don't use even half the dressing I do get.
You still get a lot of calories, but not so many carbs.
BLT salad sans croutons with caesar dressing

I liked to get the chicken spinach salad, but they don't carry that anymore. Now when we go there I get the double with a side salad. I don't eat the bun and I barely use any dressing.
Classic double with cheese and a side salad with caesar dressing (counting all dressing) sans the bun.
