Just a quick note:
For those concerned by sodium check this out:
total sodium for the day is 2923g

compare that to :
1 bacon cheeseburger with fries and coke for lunch and 4 slices of pizza for dinner comes in at 5977.3g

Day one went well. Still a little hungry, but that is to be expected at first. I will weigh at the 3 day mark to see results.

I know I am a little late in the posts..sorry. Anyways last year I did a juice fast for 22 days. I did it for health reasons and as a cleanse, however I lost 16 lbs. I lost that and then lost another 15 and have continued losing since going back to atkins. Fasting is a tough road. Don't beat yourself up if this is something you end up not wanting to continue. I don't know about the shakes, but the health benefits of the juice fast were amazing for me. The weightloss was nice, but the way I felt was truly unreal...I just wish I could maintain that high I wish you all the best and listen to your body, it will let you know whether or not this is something you should continue.

Good Luck
Leanna

Here are some websites about the juice fasting and fasting in general, just as a FYI. Just so I don't tick anyone off...I am not advocating this over Atkins, this was something else entirely, the weightloss was just a really NICE bonus

Day 3 down 1 1/2 pounds. This is starting to look real encouraging. That's a total of 3 1/2 lbs in 3 days.
Hunger completely gone. This is working better for me than Induction did when first starting this WOL. These are better results than I had doing Meat& egg interesting.

My results have been just amazing.

Things are slowing down a bit as would be expected.
Plus TOM approaching.
But all together in 7 days I have lost 5 pounds. For me, (Queen of the snails) This is pretty good.
I am going to do Induction level for a week or two to give myself some variety. But I will definately do this again!

Results have been great! 5 pounds down in 7 days.
I'm excited about this.
I am pausing for a week or two ONLY because I want a little variety. Will do Induction then maybe back to Shake-Fat Fast.

PP-That sounds soooo good!!

I do a shake for breakfast, Lunch and have a low carb dinner. I don't mind it so much. I just plain don't have time for anything else, honestly. It has been working for me. As far as fasting never tried it. Good luck though!!

Can I ask, has your weight-loss plan been a series of fasts, or have you at times eaten at OWL levels too?

Shakes are NOT a fast. They have calories, just through protein.

I use 'em after a weight lifting session, as you're supposed to get at least 20 gm of protein 30 minutes after lifting for max effect.

Don't fast! Your body will respond by slowing your metabolism. If you're stuck, start looking for carbs sneaking in your diet, stay away from "impact carb" supplement foods, and exercise more. It'll come off.

CONGRATULATIONS! I am very happy for you Jiggy Puff. Great job! I personally am going to keep a lil note for myself to try your Shake fast possibly next month. Will see how things are going for me by then.

I started Low carb a little over 2 years ago. I did Induction about 6 weeks then went to Owl for most of the time. Stayed true to the WOE. Occasionally I would go back to Induction when I had short stalls. I tried Meat and egg fast a couple of times but got really bored with it. I wanted to try this Shake-Fat fast because the nutritional makeup of it was better than the M&E Fast. And I knew from 2 years of research and living the LC WOL that the higher fat was right for me. Better loss average and reduced hunger. I am normally a very very slow looser. Extremly metabolically resistant. Hyperinsulimic etc. So this have been a benefit in getting the ball rolling again.

I agree with Meghan... If you drink more than two a day you will have violent intestinal problems I have used the shakes for meals. My favorite is to use them for a pick me up snack. The premade is sooo much better than the powder..

so let us know if the loss sticks when you go back to eating induction foods! Wonder if it would work with just 2 meals a day with shakes and then one being inductions levels.
