At the beginning of this thread I put my HDL, LDL, VLDL and Triglycerides
VLDL 14
Tri 69
HDL - 74
LDL - 178

I don't know what CRP or Homocystine are.

I find it hard to swallow that it has little or nothing to do with heart disease, considering my father had a heart attack at 55 from a blocked artery due to high cholesterol. He was one of the lucky ones, he had an extra artery in his heart, so he didn't have as much damage as he otherwise would have had.

I am going to stop taking the statin for the next 2 1/2 weeks. When she does the blood test at that time, I'm going to see how my number fall, and re-evaluate. I have had some problems with charley horses, something I haven't had since I was pregnant, but other than that no muscle issues so far, but sure as hell don't want any either.

Since I've converted back to vegetarian now, and Vegan most days, my cholesterol intake is zero, or almost zero most days, so without lipitor, and just taking all the supplements to reduce it, should give me a clearer pic of how much of my cholesterol issues are hereditary, and how much are diet.

(I was eating 3 eggs and up to 5 strips of bacon every morning, which is a lot of cholesterol intake on a daily basis for months before I took these tests)
