is recommending Vitamin D3 (as cholecalciferol) 700 IU 175%

but it will be much better if taken as part of a good "mega" multivitamin

more info on the big "D"

The level of 700 IU/day has been proven inadequate for most of the population, via studies, unless you live south of Charlottesville, NC,US.

Other sources of vitamin D include:

Cod Liver Oil. 1 tablespoon=1360 IU of vitamin D
Salmon. 3 ounces=425 IU of vitamin D
Herring. 3 ounces=765 IU of vitamin D
Sardines. Canned, 3 ounces=255 IU of vitamin D

Multivitamin supplements commonly provide 200-400 IU of vitamin D daily.

A light-skinned person wearing a swimsuit at the beach will have absorbed about 20,000 IU of vitamin D in the time it takes their skin to get lightly pink.

but you got to be careful not to have too much of Vitamin A in your cod liver oil...too much A is dangerous...

Typically you take DHEA right after getting out of bed - since that is what your body normally produces DHEA.

Typically you take amino acids right before bed (I don't think you are taking any amino acids -- just stating this in case others have the question about when do you take supplements). This is when your body produces growth hormone and other similar hormones.

The rest I spread out (as much as possible) during the day. Typically - half in the morning and half at night. If you are taking only one pill, take half of the pills in the morning and half at night or whenever most convienent.

Did you take a bone density test beforehand? I would like to compare the results before and in like a year.

I know the feeling Lanny.

I have time released DHEA that is pharmaceutical grade, dispensed by a compounding pharmachy. I take it in the morning. My doctor didn't specify any particular time.

i did have a bone density done about 2yrs this winter coming...and all was perfect...she said i have bones like a 20yr old

i do take calcium for my bones cause my mom and grandmother had knee problems..my mom has a bit of osteoporosis but very miner...mom never took calcium back then so i dont want to have what she has...i do eat well and my geno and docs said to take calcium...im very active, bike, walk ski all the time...even go flying down hills like a cartwheel... so i better keep my bones fit before i hit 50!

so basically i just wanted to know if i can take dhea with D cause no one seems to say the same thing when you read up on the net...and no i dont take any amio acid or anything like that...i think i already take too much like it is...ive been taking E C for over 20yrs now and Bcomplex for 5yrs...and 2yrs ago i started primerose and my mag...i dont think i can bare anymore vitamins...my husband says its in my head and i dont need vitamins...HA...who listens to there husbands anyways?

so long i am healthy thats all what counts...knock on wood...

ciao

This could be inflammation that low carbing, omega 3s, and multivitamins will help. Calcium and such will also help.

no difference whatsoever in anything...not even losing weight...but i wasnt taking it for that either...might look into Black Cohosh or red clover leave...but for any difference, nope...mind you im always full of energy...even if i dont feel like doing something i will get up and do it...i refuse to sit on my butt and just watch tv or something like that...life is too short to waste...dont get me wrong...i do get tired and like i can drag myself at times..and then thats when i start pushing myself...i havent dropped yet...so i must be still breathing...LOL...maybe the DHEA isnt for me...i dont know...might work for others and might not be necessary for me...you have any tricks up your sleeves Nancy that i should know or try?

Hmmm... maybe not Lanny! I noticed a sort of sense of well being at first, but I got a lot of hormones tuned up at once. My main trick is just getting and keeping my thyroid meds adjusted correctly. When that seems to happen it seems like everything else falls into place. Is there anything specific you're trying to accomplish with supplements?

Oh yeah, I think my gluten free diet is helping me too.
