Smile My First Post

Hi! Brand newbie, here. I just registered today, and this is my first post, though I've been doing Atkins since July.

I'm in Vancouver. I think it would be neat to keep in touch with other Vancouverites and maybe plan a Christmas LC meal together at some point in December. Any takers?

I'm really not all that wise, so you can call me "dub."

Hi, Wisewoman... I'm in New West and similar in age to you (a bit older). There are quite a number of us Vancouver area LC'ers here on the Forum and I'm sure we could get a good number out to a dinner!

Hi everyone!
I found this board about a week ago and had not yet seen this B.C. thread. Had to register so I could jump in.
I live in the West End.
Wisewoman and jeanyyy - I am in your age group too.
I'd certainly be up for a LC dinner with new friends!

Default Hurray!!

I'm so glad to find some LCers in my own age group in the Vancouver area! And Jean, I adore your sig, it's absolutely beautiful.

Looks like Jean, Ghislaine, and I, at the very least, should be able to set up a dinner together for sometime in early December. I'll start looking for appropriate venues that offer a selection of LC-compatible meals. Let me know if you have any fave eateries, or suggestions.

All others welcome as well...let us know if you'll be in town and we'll work around the dates.

HI
from surrey . Just had to comment on store I found today. The village baker in coquitlam--on 1041 ridgway. Cookies, cheescake pizza crust and bread. All low carb and cheaper than twassen(?) or north van. Very excited!!!

Awesome, Moonglow! Welcome aboard!

Wisewoman, some good places are Memphis Blues, Samba, Rugby Grill for starters... I'll start spreading the word!

Bingham, good to see ya! Are these items you mention low carb? Wow, I'm not too far from there, will have to check it out. Thanks!

Hmm...

I've heard that the Fish House in Stanley Park is a great place to go for a hot LC time. I'm sure the chef could be persuaded to cook a real Christmas dinner.

I have it from a reliable source that she's working on a Steamed Cranberry Pudding with Eggnog sauce, especially for Christmas.

But, a smaller, less elaborate get-together might be in order first?

Default baking

jeanyyy,
yes all the baking is low carb. I think anywhere from 1 to 6 carbs for different items. the bread--full regular looking loaf is only 5.99, and all the sweets are made with splenda. I must say the lady was really nice--

giving me ingrediant lists for all the stuff and being very pro-low-carb.
The place is really small and no frills so I almost missed it.

Default Count me in!

Hi all,

I'm in on the dinner idea!

I would love to be included in any Vancouver area LC'ers Christmas dinner - especially if it involves Karen's restaurant (and the dessert she mentioned!)

Keep me posted!

BTW Karen - when is your book coming out? I checked the amazon.ca website and it is still saying Oct 2003.

I'd like to get together informally first, too!

Bingham, I'm looking forward to seeing the ingredient lists for the Village Bake Shop goodies!
