Question Meat & Eggs Limit of Eggs/day???

Ok I would have to agree that the M&E is effective at getting one into Ketosis. . . But is there a maximum number of eggs one can eat per day . . I know that each egg has about 1 gram of carbs so can a person eat 12 eggs per day if they want?

That still would be only 12 grams of carbs a day?

Cheers

A carb is a carb. What do you mean you don't count the carbs in eggs? As far as I know every carb counts, and you have to be aware of hidden carbs too.

you dont need to count carbs in eggs because ...... you couldnt you eat twenty in one day even if you could you wouldnt be able to eat anything else.
i have done m/e before and beleive me its hard after 2 days to eat 5 eggs and a small amount of meat you break it up through the day as you just cant stomache it dont forget that ketosis is an appertite surpresant onece you hit it your appertite just goes whooosh.

eat as many as you like till you hit ketosis .
after that ketosis takes control of how many carbs you take in and beleive me its very small

The first time I did the M/E fast, I read that you are allotted 5 eggs a day (hence 5 carbs). That's what I did, and it worked wonders! I actually just started it again today. Wish me luck. I'll need it.

Default General Rule

If you are eating only eggs I would keep it to 12 or less per day . .

I have eaten 18 and it seemed to be a stalemate/causing a stall.

If you add chicken or beef my gues would be 8 or less.

But as always it depends on you chemistry and total level of activity for that day.

Chers

TWELVE?!?!?!?!?!?!? That's WAY too many. Keep it around five... I think anything over that is a bit extreme and unhealthy.

We have gone on several vacations this summer and no matter how careful I am about eating, I always gain 2-3 pounds and the next morning upon returning home, I start eating eggs and meat only and by the next morning, I am back to my pre vacation weight. We got back last night and I have had an eggwhite omelet with one yolk and some turkey pepperoni cooked in the microwave. They have 0 carbs. Have to admit, I am wanting something else but I have sausage thawing for later.

I thought eggs only had like .6 carbs. It is hard to eat more than 6 a day for me at least. If I am just eating tuna or other fish, I would usually eat that many eggs. But if I am having heavier meats then maybe 2 eggs.

TTLWF23, you can eat any kind of meat--chix, fish, beef, etc. but stay away from 'frankenfoods' like bologna and such which lots of times contain sugars. The key to the M & E fast is to keep your carbs to no more than 5 carbs/day.

Does this fast have to include the eggs? I mean, can it just be small portions throughout the day of beef, chicken, etc. in placde of eggs?

Then I guess you COULD go on a meat fast...but.. that would get a bit boring, more boring than meat and eggs.

I think I eat more eggs than I do meat, just since it is easier to fry them up and stick them in your face hole. I never get sick of them. I haven't noticed an appetite surpressant in it though, but I have noticed weight loss. So either way, I am pleased.
