I also live in Tulsa. I started before Christmas (mistake for me), but rebegan January 5 with a visit to the local health food store.
Be sure and look at the recipes-- so many really good things and good pointers -- this is a really encouraging site and I come here as often and I can.

Your right, the recipes are out of this world. I was having some "cravings" for somethig different for breakfast, was tired of the eggs and bacon, so I made the Sour cream banana nut bread, it was really good, my kids liked it. I would warm it in the mike and add some butter, yum yum. I've do the mock danish quite often , some of the cookies and some different jello things. I plan on trying some soup too. Learning how to cook low carb and different substitues you can do is the key to staying on this WOE. So I can have my cake (the banana nut bread) and eat it too!

Hey Cindy, I just went to Chili's today for lunch in Owasso, not much low carb there except the usual salad, I did get some of the boneless buffalo wings, even though they had breading, a little more carbs than I should have I'm sure, but oh well, life goes on.

Welcome to this forum, I love it. One of my special treats I get when TOM (TIME OF MONTH) is here is one of the carbolite bars at Walgreens. I swear they taste like a Hersheys candy bar. But I heard they can make you stall so I don't eat too many of them, and so far, nothing bad has happened.....so if you get that incredible, uncontrolable chocoalte graving, you ought to try one.

Thanks...that's what I'm discovering too about eating out. I am going out for steak tonight, so that's always a delicious option!

I'll pick up one of the bars and Walgreens and try it out! I've been eating a few of the Akins bars, and it's ok, but not great. It's also EXPENSIVE ($2.00 per bar!!). I'd like to find some other alternatives.

Nice to see your post. Thanks for responding so fast!

Yes, tried the Atkins too, but let me tell you, you will get hooked on the carbolite bars, they are found at Walgreens in the "diet" section, with all the protein bars, they are 1.29 per bar. They are small, and well worth the $$$$.

Yum, steak, sounds good.

PS - have you started a journal yet? Under My journal/Bootcamp. I recommend you do that, you'll get lots of advice and encouragement there.

Yes, I have started a journal...only 2 days old, but I like keeping track of what I'm eating and how I'm feeling about this.

Can I have the carbolite bars on Induction?

I probably would avoid them on induction.....just to be safe......

They haven't caused me any problems and i'm still losing, but everyone is different, they say they have 0 grams, but they actually have about 2 if you eat all of the bar. They are good though.

Glad to see all you Tulsans and ones from Durant too, are doing well. A good restaurant in Tulsa for lc meals is the Wild Fork at Utica Square. A little pricey, but a good selection for us lcarbers. Keep up the great work.

Default From OKC!!

Hi! I am from OKC. Just started Atkins a week ago. I am so carb addicted that it has been hard. But I am doing my best to persevere! I would love to talk to fellow Okies about this. Glad to see you all. I just joined today. Hey Ravia...I am originally from Ardmore, so I know where you are!

JULIEKELLY: I will have to try that out, I have never even heard of it, but I'm always looking for a low carb restaurant, maybe this weekend i'll make hubby take me over for lunch. Thanks for telling us about it.

pbellepaige: Welcome to this forum, I've been a member for about 7 months now, and I love the support, ideas, and the chatting with everyone.

Have a happy low-carbing day........
