momto4boys - I work in Greenville. Do you know of a CAD/CALP group that meets anywhere in the area? We'll have to get together sometime. Keep up the good work; sounds like you are enjoying this way of eating. Any tips for us newbies. What are some of your menus like? Anyone else?

Madmax - How are things this morning? I bet your temporary water weight gain will be gone soon. The reason I probably did not gain by switching from Atkins was because I had been having a carb fest for a few weeks putting on about six pounds in a month. That is when I knew I had to either get back to Atkins Induction or try CAD to get my cravings under control. I'll be glad to help you anyway I can. Maybe we could list our menus everyday down to the last bite and let all the experts ciritique it and tell us what we are doing wrong. I'm having problems trying to get to the point where my carb treat is something healthy for me. I see it as a time to have that sugary sweet item. My gum craving seems to finally be gone and I am switching to decaffeinated black coffee except for that one cup in the morning with cream.

Have a nice lowcarb day everyone. Always enjoy reading everyones posts and journals.

Ann (Anleigh is my 11 month old granddaughter's name). Yes, I'm a granny!

The diet pepsi makes me retain water and either stall or gain.. try to keep it in your RM. Diet Rite soda with your RM is even better.

Sometimes you will gain if you don't eat enough. Try for a few days of two healthy CMs.. with no carbs and an RM with carbs but not going overboard. Also drink your water..

I think the gift of CAD is not worrying about everything so much.. that will come in time. I remember feeling hungry inbetween meals in the beginning..and stressing over everything. Now I just listen to my body. Yesterday I only ate two pieces of turkey bacon and two eggs for brunch.. and a burger, fries, and diet pepsi for RM.. No balance but I still lost the water weight I had been gaining the last few days. I usually really try to eat my veggies though.. I want to be healthy as well as lose weight.

Curious to hear how your body is reacting now.. keep us posted.
