Last year I was the perfect Atkins poster child for Thangsgiving week. Never cheated. Never even tasted anything not allowed. Ate only moderate amount of turkey breast, steamed veggies and salad for Thangsgiving. The day after I was up 2 pounds. I still have not gotten over that.

This year I ate half a nuked sweet potato with my otherwise legal dinner. Later that night I ate 2 cups of frozen blueberries. I have no regrets. I have yet to get on the scale.

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house. We made all the traditional favorites. I made Mock Potatoes for myself, then add green beans and salad. For dessert I made the Pumpkin Cheesecake from Womens World. I did great until dessert time. I ate almost half of the cheese cake. It was all LC but it was way too much. I am going back in induction.

I ate everything. I was originally trying to wait until Christmas but since my mom was making dinner and her stuffing is the best in the world, I caved. It continued Friday with a piece of cake and donut.

Saturday was basically just some bread with dinner and Sunday was an elaborate Christmas party with bread, potatoes, cookies, etc, etc.

Anyway, I feel horrible today. I am back on the wagon. I didn't even weigh in because I know it would be discouraging and depressing.

I am doing induction until Christmas..plain and simple. My goal is to lose any weight I did gain (my pants were a bit snug today) and get down to 320 by 12/25.

I admit I had 2 servings of LC pumpkin cheesecake on Thursday and 2 on Saturday. But they expect you to get 16 servings out of that one 9" cheesecake! That's just insane, really.

I stayed completely on plan except for a single lick of the potato beater after I whipped them. I also allowed myself about 2 ounces of corn because I didn't have enough time to make my own vegetable when dinner was running late.

A success if you ask me. I didn't gain and ounce even after 2 full Thanksgiving meals and 5 days of nothing but leftovers and restaurant food.

I'm glad it's not just me. I stuck to plan. I planned on cheating and I did!!!! I have realized this is a way of life, so I'm not going to kill myself for getting off plan a day here or there, for special occasions.

The one thing I noticed for the first time. Carbs really do make me feel terrible. For the two dinners we went to, I controlled my carb intake, and stuck with the turkey, salads, LC jello. I felt great, no blouted, "I'm going to explode" feelings. At the second dinner I had a roll, I kinda got a little uncomfortable. Had a couple glasses of water, all was good. Then the pumpkin cake came out of the oven. I knew I was going to cave, I planned it, I was ready for the scale to slap me the next morning. What I wasn't ready for was, upon completing the cake, I got that terrible "I'm going to explode" feeling that was like acid in my stomach. I now know what causes that, which I had never been able to narrow down.

The bottomo line for me is that I don't feel like I went off plan. I knew that I was going to take a break, and jump back on induction the next day, and even though that took an extra day, I'm back to where I was. As a side note, I gained 4lbs the day after thanksgiving, and two days later it was gone, so I didn't loose anything in my opinion.

Default Carb Coma

I straight up stuffed myself into a carb coma. I don't think I even ate a piece of meat. I mean, it was pure gluttony. You would have thought i hadn't eaten in months! I had Mac N cheese, stuffing, sweet potatoes, rolls, rice, gravy, 2 pieces of sweet potato pie, chocolate and banana cake and had the NERVE to throw in a piece of low-carb cheesecake. Needless to say, I felt like pure shyt! I was miserable and useless for the rest of the day. The next day, I got right back on though! I will NEVER do that again to my body. Horrible, just horrible!

BLEW It is an understatement! Wed-Sun...Fast Food Heaven!! Oh well, I am getting back on the horse.

I hope one day I become one of those people where carbs make me feel bad, but for now they're still darn YUMMY!

I didn't blow it but I do have a word of suggestion for those who feel really sick after eating mostly carbs. Eat protein first, then pig out on the carbs. I find that if I eat mostly carbs, I get really really sick and sleepy. If you've lc'ed for awhile, your body is very sensitive to carbs, especially if you overdose on a large amount of it. Now if I eat plenty of protein first, this slows down the rise in blood sugar, and I don't feel nearly as bad.

I cheated. See I've cheated and can't get up!

Too lazy. Too tired of defending what I want/need to eat. Too tired.

Umm... maybe I also just plain wanted it.

Still, I am here to tell you that it WAS NOT worth it! I am back on Induction. Tonight, cuz I already blew it today.

I am so great at giving thoughtful advice to others. Now I need to point that sanctimonious finger at myself.

Hey girl, Im right there with ya!! Ive fallen off the wagon so many times its embarrassing, but like you, I too have come to the realization that I CANT go off plan, if I want to feel good. I swell, ache, get lazy and tired,,,all that . I finally stopped and thought about what do I really want...the pizza, (I LOVE it!!), the candy and cookies,,or a better quality of life. I have decided to work towards the latter,,ONE DAY, ONE MEAL, at a time! Im not gonna beat myself up anymore, cause I am human and prone to fail,,,but I will keep trying. After all, its up to me.
Hang in there girl, you've got all the support you need. Yeah, I read the "did you make it " thread too,,made me feel guilty. Thats why my daughter, mplayer, started this one for us. We're not perfect, and needed a place for the others like us to congregate for help. SO, c'mon in, join the gang here and lets support each other.
I think I can...I think I can....

Thats right mom! You go girl!! I've been doing good so far. Been on induction for 4 days and feeling a lot better. (that LC ice cream in the freezer is calling me tho)

I've had a headache for a few days now. Could that be from lack of sugar? Maybe my body's in shock and needs more chocolate cake??
I'm still hangin in there. Doing induction until Christmas.

Putting everything in fitday helps...1400 calories a day for the last two days and 13 carbs!!
And today I even drank 44 ounces of water!1 I know I know, thats not enough,,but I havent been drinking ANY!! So, Im proud!!
Maybe your headache is from lack of your vitamins...been taking your oil of oregano???
