We ate at a Mexican restaurant this evening so I had my usual taco salad. I did splurge on some tortilla chips and salsa though. Guess I'll see how the scale looks in the morning. On the other hand--I redid the window display at the store today for Christmas and must have climbed in and out of it a thousand times. I figure I must have burned up any extra carbs/calories that came with the chips as tonight my muscles are so sore I'm cripping around like I'm 80.

Yup, me too.... I have always wondered if your body is wanting the extra calories, or just another cruel trick it plays on you

I've heard that your metabolism increases significantly during TOM. I believe that, because I've never had PMS weight gain stick around.

What's for dinner tonight Maintainers?

Cold cuts, cheese, and a cuppa cawfee. Boring, because I was going to work and didn't feel like cooking.

So how is everyone doing? I cannot believe Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away!

I'm really enjoying this Banta WOE, granted, I've only been doing it for 3 days, but it's a nice change.. kind of switch gears for a bit, and shake things up.

Beans, good to hear you are enjoying the Banta thing. Are you sticking strictly with the Banta list of foods and combinations they have or are you just aiming for the percentages when it comes to fat/protein?

I'm only sticking to the ratios. The food list was geared more for European diets. I'm sure you've seen my menus in my journal, typically the same, just smaller sized portions of protein, and more fat.

Here is a link for the Banta thread. You'll be able to find out some info there.

As for low calorie cheesecake.. hmm.. I'm not sure. I would think that any cheesecake, just with the cream cheese ingredient would yield high calorie. I think you could sub Neufachatel (sp?) cheese and cut some fat. Have you tried the sweet treats forum?

I found this one.. I would nix the crust, sub with CarbCountdown milk, nix the topping, and sub a different flavor full fat yogurt like raspberry, I personally don't care for peach. I just shredded the recipe to heck didn't I?

HTH.

OK, this one is better. Super easy. Nix the crust and it should be VERY low carb and less than 100 calories a slice.

I know!!!! I was taking a weight class at the gym this morning, and the teacher made sure everyone knew there was a class Thanksgiving morning. I am sorry, I work out 5 days a week, I think I can miss a day. Actually, I am planning on resting that whole weekend. I am not going to stress about food, or excercise for a couple of days. Geez, that's what I do as a routine! My tastes have changed somewhat over the past year, though and I don't see myself being as big of a pig as I have been I have been asked, however to make my famous pumpkin dutch apple pie and chocolate chip cheesecake.... Hmmm... maybe I'll make the cheesecake lc and see if anyone notices How about you guys, are you going to have a lc Thanksgiving? Any planned 'cheats'?

OK--here's a new topic--are you guys still drinking all your water? As for me, I'm down to three big glasses a day instead of five. I'm sure the five is better for me but I'm not as religious about getting it down as I used to be. And--so far so good. Anybody else noticing any difference?

On the days I work out, I usually drink about 3 liters, plus 3 or 4 small cups of tea. On the weekends, it's less - for some reason I'm less motivated + less thirsty. What helps is switching it around.... like sometimes I'll make it hot with lemon & stevia when it's cold outside.
