Talking Who is cycling Oil of Oregano? Who is not?

First of all, thank you thank you to all of you on the OoO thread. I have my energy back and my face has never looked better. I don't know if it helped me lose any, since I was already making some changes for the better (see journal) but it sure wouldn't hurt!

I'm nearing my 15th day and I'm supposed to stop for 15 days...who does that? Should I really do that? Am I letting my fondness for this stuff mess up my thinking...I don't want to fall into the "more is better" trap.

Any thoughts you can share I'd appreciate.

I don't cycle.

Probably should have made this a poll.

I use to cycle and now don't.

I did however stop taking it for 2 weeks to see what changed would come about. Noticed I was more bloated especially before TOM and I'm not bloated while on OoO, my face started to break out which usually doesn't happen, I'm tired when not on is and more energetic when I am. My scalp is dryer without it and when I'm on it it's not dry and I even have real shiny hair now.

Hope this helps.

I have been taking OOO for several months now. About two weeks ago, I ran out and did not order anymore. Since then AFwife, like you, my face is breaking out a little which it never does. I did not make the connection until you mentioned it here.

Anyway, several days after I stopped taking the OOO, I felt so tired. I did not know why I felt that way all of the sudden. Then, I made the connection to my having stopped the OOO. It was such a drastic difference that I figured that had to be it. I re-ordered me some this past Tuesday, looking forward to it getting here. I won't let myself run out again that is for sure!

I always order my next one when my first bottle is half way done but a friend of mine that lives a couple of blocks from me, gave me her's cause she was having allergic reactions to it.

Saves me 16 bucks. WOO HOO!

Thanks, all. Zuliekaa is right, I would have done a poll if I'd thought about it. But the impression I'd gotten from the Big OoO Thread is that everyone else is like me...we don't want to give it up.

I've been researching this issue, found this:

"according to the book Beyond Antibiotics: Healthier Options for Families, is that bacteria do not develop resistance to oregano oil."

and this!:

"Oregano had 3 to 20 times higher antioxidant activity than the other herbs studied."

You can read the whole thing, here:
http://www.thepowermall.com/oreganoproducts/faq.htm#12

I think I'll keep going and see what happens, maybe taper off the doses when I stop seeing changes...which hasn't happened yet. This is my second day with the OoO in my shampoo, and a friend said my hair looks "softer and fluffier."

Egads! This stuff is so cool!

I too, started OoO because of the original thread, but I was wondering Adkpam, why do you add it to your shampoo? And how do you do it? Directly in? One cap or more?
Thank you.
PS: Because of your informative posts on CLA, I am thinking of adding it to my list of supplements. I just started L-cartinine today, so I am waiting for payday.

Thumbs up

Hi, amethyst1, and welcome to the OoO club. (I've got my husband, my mom, my brother, and a friend in it too...)

I got this from AFwife. I put 4 drops of the Full Strength stuff I got from the Wolfe Clinic in Canada (who are very nice, BTW.)

http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/oregano.html

This particular stuff I dilute myself, 1 part OoO to 4 parts olive oil, for putting on my tongue (4 drops, three times a day.) So then 4 drops of the full strength stuff into my almost full bottle of shampoo (Pantene.)

I've been doing this for five days, and my hair feels very soft, and the flaking (not bad, but I notice it on black turtlenecks) is considerably less. It also makes my scalp tingle, which to me is a sign that I needed it. The first few days of taking OoO I noticed various parts of me that I have taken medicine for in the past, (like my throat...I had strep throat once) tingling for hours at a time.

So you know it's working...

Hi all ~

Related question since I just got my first bottle of OOO - how many drops do you take and how often? There are no directions on my bottle.

Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome, Adkpam.
I know this sounds stupid to ask, but since my capsules smell soooo bad if broken, doesn't it make your hair smell too? Or is it so diluted you don't notice the smell?
Thanks.

Can someone provide a link to the original OoO thread, as I would really appreciate it. I stumbled upon some information of OoO yesterday and rushed out and bought a small container of the oil to see how it would work for all my allergies, asthma and allergy related skin problems. Took one drop under my tongue last night and one this morning. Even so, and am just getting over a cold and have been wrestling with a gigantic elephant sitting on my chest for days now, my breathing has greatly improved, I am coughing up a lot more mucus than I usually do (this is a good thing folks) and my breathing has vastly improved. Already I am having positive feelings about OoO. In one week I intend to increase my dosage to 2 drops every 12 hours. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Default Question about shampoo

Yes, it is strong stuff, but four drops in a full bottle of shampoo smells only faintly in your hand, and not at all once your hair is washed.

I would think you need the OoO that is NOT diluted with olive oil. When it is diluted with olive oil, I use 4 drops, 3 times a day, on my tongue. When I can get to my other bottle, I'll post how much active ingredient is in that.
